Ah I misunderstood, I was confused that the network settings page
mentions that the default is 9000, but I'm guessing this is the default
for LMS, but not on DSM.

I can work with 9002, no problem :) thnx for the explanation!

Yes, and its not a bug. 9002 is the lms default in DSM.
As said, the ports on synology for packages are defined (hard coded) in
the config of the package. There no way to change that and make it
persist after a reboot, other than changing the config file in the
package, before install.

The 9000 isn't currently in use, I can switch to it in LMS no problem.
Also, I'm certain that surveillance station isn't running on my NAS. I
can use 9002 if need be, but I'd rather stick with the LMS default.
Apart from that, it feels like a bug that LMS resets the port from 9000
to 9002 when I restart it, but perhaps my expectations are wrong?

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 Synology persist port change

2020-11-15 Thread pinkdot

The port is indeed part of the config that comes with the package! When
installing a package, Synology checks if this port is free to use. If
already in use, the install will fail.
Port 9000 was once used by Surveillance Station but is free to use now.
Surveillance Station moved to 9900 and 9901.
So, it will only persist after a reboot when I change the ports
accordingly.

@Hawkeyenl What is the reason you want to change port 9002 to 9000?

LMS will try the port that is set up in its preferences unless it is
refused (e.g. port already in use).

So this implies that something else is using port 9000 when LMS is
starting up. It seems Port 9000 & 9001 were used by Synology for
"Surveillance Station" so they may be somehow "reserved" at startup

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 Synology persist port change

2020-11-15 Thread Hawkeyenl

Hi,

I'm running the latest LMS 8.0 on my Synology NAS, which is running just
fine. One thing I found though is that when the default port for this
package seems to be 9002, instead of the LMS default 9000. I can change
it via the browser to 9000 manually, but every time I restart or update
LMS it is reset to 9002. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can get it
to persist properly?

Kind regards
