Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Mozartiana Radio Feed
This is the API I found - it provides a way to shwo cover art but needs an API key which is supplied to an "app" ( any piece of s/w which uses radionomy) creator and AFAICT all app subscribers use it. https://board.radionomy.com/viewtopic.php?f=28=74 bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105565 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

bpa wrote: > Radionomy has an API to provide all sorts of info about what is playing > but that would require a custom plugin which is beyond the OP's > skillset. I think that their API (at least the one I looked at in 2013 or so) was for broadcasters rather than listeners. However, they are broadcasting using Shoutcast compatible ICY data (I didn't check to see if it is a real Shoutcast server or Icecast etc). For example - the ICY data when I played it a few minutes ago was: ICY Info: StreamTitle='Accardo violin : Canino piano - Mozart : Violin Sonata G major KV 301 II Allegro'; So - this should make LMS think that this is an artist called "Accardo violin : Canino piano" playing a track called "Mozart : Violin Sonata G major KV 301 II Allegro" This /might be/ from https://www.discogs.com/Wolfgang-Amadeus-Mozart-Violin-Sonatas-KV-301-303-481/release/1046200 ... (correct soloists) which could then lead to artwork of ... https://www.discogs.com/release/1046200-Violin-Sonatas-KV-301-303-481/images and Discogs has APIs ... but it might be too much guess work for classical stuff. I did some more digging and found that Radionomy were going to look at making artwork available to LMS ... but that was in 2011 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?82680-Radionomy-web-radio-service-now-available-on-the-Squeezebox-!=607881=1#post607881 Note - I was talking about per-track artwork not station logo. If the issue is the station logo then I presume that submitting the station info to TuneIn/RadioTime would result (eventually) in it appearing there with copied logo (Mozart headshot). Paul Webster wrote: > A custom plug-in could try to work it out assuming that there is a > source that could provide the covers. Radionomy has an API to provide all sorts of info about what is playing but that would require a custom plugin which is beyond the OP's skillset. Unfortunately, the simple solution I suggested doesn;t work either. Editing the Favorites.opml file and adding the station icon results in LMS showing the icon in the favorites list but radio mast icon is still shown when playing. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105565 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Mozartiana Radio Feed
If the streaming station inserts the artist name and track title into the stream - e.g. via Shoutcast protocol - and does it as "artistname - tracktitle" then there is a good chance that LMS (via TuneIn) will show matching artwork. However, given that the particular station that you are talking about is playing classical music and has titles like "Malat : Kurpfalzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim - Mozart : Divertimento E flat major KV 113 IV Allegro" then there is little chance of this matching anything. A custom plug-in could try to work it out assuming that there is a source that could provide the covers. Hi Guys. So, given that Radionomy doesn't supply art, is there a simple way of using last.fm to provide the station art? Thanks, Steve No _simple_ way. It can be done, but does involve some coding. And then it's still depending on the data quality on Last.fm. It might cover most contemporary pop music, but little Classical or local (to my country) music etc. Unfortunately Last.fm has simplified some of their API calls, now returning less data than before. This often makes matching harder than before. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

There are really not that many stations that provide art in the stream , nothing Logitech can do about that LMS offers hooks to implement this kind of service. My experience with the radio station I'm using the most is it can work pretty well (using Last.fm to provide the artwork), but is prone to errors, as it's only artist/track name based search. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Tune in also provides LMS and mysqueezebox.com with your local radio menus and that structure to explore other countries and cities, a nice touch . TuneIn is a directory and its "Value-add" is to insert station-art and also "what playing now" fdor those station which don't provide it - they make exsiting streaming URL "better" and presumably somebody pays this somehow. Othwesie adding art to a streamign URL is not simple on LMS and the curver gets even steeper. LMS can display a single icon for a radio station but you need to create an OPML file which is then setup as a Favorite or manually edit the Favorties OPML file. In the "outlkne" for the Mozartiana station you are defining you can add an URL for the "icon" parameter - this URL point to the station artwork. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105565 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Mozartiana Radio Feed
Problem solved (I think!) (I'm pretty unfamiliar with this whole technical side of streaming/internet radio etc, but I like the convenience!) My original preset linked to a url hosted by TuneIn.com - that link doesn't work any more (there's a recorded message with an American accent saying this station doesn't steam and to contact the radio station). So I guess it used to be OK but they've stopped streaming the Mozartiana service for whatever reason - I think I'd been using that url link ever since I first bought the SB radios a few years back. Now if Link the preset to http://streaming.radionomy.com/Mozartiana, the preset works fine. However, I noticed that there's no 'station art' for the station or (m)any other Radionomy stations. Does anyone know if that's a temporary glitch, or do I need to do something my end? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Mozartiana Radio Feed
I don't think I ever added it using a straight url (it's been a while since I set up the presets. If I long press on the station I get an info box stating it's opml.radiotime.com/Tunes.ashx?.. plus a load of other stuff that's scrolling too fast for me to see. The method I think I used for adding it was to search for the station name. But I can't seem to find the station any more. Sorry for not sounding very competent with this! Any help appreciated... Hi BPA. The station is not playing on any of my radios. I had it as a preset. It says 'the play list is empty'. I gave the url simply as a reference point for the station. I wasn't suggesting I was trying to use it on the radios. All other presets I've created work fine. Mozart ian gas been fine up until a few days back. Does this help? Thanks.
