Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Out of sync playback - PC & 2 androids
It also depends on the hardware/OS. I think on Android it depends on the Android device. Some have deterministic audio drivers and there sync should work fine, others don't. Stefan, the author of SqueezePlayer has written about it somewhere. I think Windows never works because it doesn't have a deterministic audio driver. Linux is often better, iOS should always work, OSX: I don't know. The biggest problem is if the audio driver buffers audio data for an undefined time. Windows does this because that way it can decouple the output timing from the application timing. There are special, deterministic audio drivers for Windows but I don't know whether they are supported by SqueezePlay, chances are probably better with SqueezeLite but I also don't know for which sound cards they are available. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106210 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

And if they do this unreliably then the server has a hard time keeping them in sync. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106210 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hi there, I have not tried fiddling with those settings... are there any you could recommend, I see there is Synchronize Volume Synchronize Power Maintain Synchronization Player Start Delay (ms) Player Audio Delay (ms) Minimum Synchronization Adjustment (ms) Network Packet Latency (ms) tx Mark fredphoesh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66097 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106210 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Out of sync playback - PC & 2 androids
Hello all, I'm a bit of a newbie to this. I have searched but have not found any answer I can understand. I have a PC running Logitech Media Server (Audio out via USB) playback with SqueezePlay app Android TV (Nvidia Shield) running Squeeze Player (Audio out via USB) Android phone Note7 running Squeeze Player (minijack output) Playback happens simultaneously, all are controlled via the LMServer but is never properly in sync. I have unsynced and resynced all the devices, in various orders, several times... but to no avail, it is still not working properly. Sometimes the sync is as much as a second or two out, usually half a second or so. They are all out, it is not like any two of my 3 devices can be synced either, they are out of sync. Is there something I am not doing that is causing this, or is this "normal"? Thanks, Mark. fredphoesh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66097 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106210 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
