Should have noticed before that the 'time screen' on my SQB radio is totally incorrect. This, I assume, is why I am getting the 'Connect time out' messages - i.e. due to a mismatch between when I make the request in (false) picoreplayer time as compared to the response in real time. I have rebooted pcp and restarted lms as you have suggested, but have not solved the time problem. It may be of interest to relate that if I run my SQB radio from a laptop with lms 8.1.1 downloaded, there is no similar timing problem. However, the laptop is closed a large part of the day and is not a solution I am happy with. So, what next? All help most gratefully received. fmanchu's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33960 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins not updating
I have been successfully running picoreplayer/rpi/LMS with a SQB radio for months - until a few days ago when I noticed that I had no third party plugins and therefore no Spotty or BBC Sounds. I have reinstalled picoreplayer and LMS on the rpi but with no improvement in the error messages. The following extract from the log file shows a heap of problems which unfortunately I have no idea how to fix. Any help gratefully received, thank you. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins not updating
Here is one, specifically the nice summary from @kidstypike (post #19) https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114408-Setting-Up-LMS-On-A-Raspberry-Pi-4B This will get you from install of pCP as a LMS server, through mounting a drive. Here's a lng thread with some useful info in it https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113058-Raspberry-Pi-basics But, as Paul said, start with the "official" instructions, but realize that pCP functions, syntax, semantics evolve faster than the documentation, so it is easy for the documentation to be essentially correct, but slightly different than you will actually experience. That's why I like post #19 of the first thread. It's simple, current, and works. The other thing to take caution in, especially if you setup Samba, is to make sure your labels/names are exactly correct (including upper/lower case). I remember my first time setting up Samba entering the server and share names, then going to windows to create a network location, creating the path using those names and it not working...repeatedly...until I finally found a lower case letter than needed to be upper. You will not regret moving your LMS to a rpi. A little inexpensive box that can remain on always, draws very little power, and is quite nimble. The UI is simple and highly functional, and if you aren't using it already I (and others) recommend using the material skin plugin, it s a great LMS UI Jim Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

You could start with the "official" ones ... which would usually be enough. If you find that they do not help enough then pointing out where they are not clear enough would help to get them improved. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114718-Plugins-not-updating=1025307=1#post1025307 Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

An alternative to a Pi based solution could be a CORE32 from Polyvection. It is probably dearer than a Pi based solution but the aim is to be easier to setup but may have limitations to achieve that . First units have not been delivered (shipping promised about now - 3rd week of June) so you'll have to wait for real user opinions. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114103-CORE32-Energy-Efficient-LMS-Music-Server bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins not updating
It just looked too hard. give picoreplayer.org a try - it's linux optimized to run Squeezelite and/or LMS on a Pi. The NAS is a bit power hungry to have on all the time, so would be looking at having my files on a USB HDD plugged into the Pi. Can that HDD be accessed via a windows PC on the same network ? ( to add new music ) Yes, this can be set up. Any clues on what I would need ? I'd recommend a Pi4 with 2GB of RAM, and a good case. I'm using the popular Flirc case, as it's cooking the CPU well. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins not updating
Hi Guys, I have noticed that I do not have any "third party plugins" listed on my LMS /server settings / plugins page. Found this in my server log and was wondering what it means and how to fix it ? (if i enter the URL into a normal web browser, I can get the page to load no worries) cheers in advance [21-06-15 11:51:25.5938] Slim::Plugin::Extensions::Plugin::getExtensions (339) fetching extensions xml http://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml [21-06-15 11:51:25.5942] Slim::Networking::Repositories::getMirrorForUrl (159) Trying to find a mirror for URL: http://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml [21-06-15 11:51:27.0024] Slim::Plugin::Extensions::Plugin::_noResponse (395) error fetching http://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml - Redirection limit exceeded [21-06-15 11:51:27.0054] Slim::Plugin::Extensions::Plugin::findUpdates (318) no action required leinster-lad's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=45943 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
