When I opened the plugins tab in LMS the update was visible at the top of the page and the checkbox next to it was unchecked. I deliberately left it unchecked then clicked on apply at the bottom of the page. LMS restarted and installed the update even though I did not check the box. Is that expected behaviour? It seems to ignore the checkbox completely. Like I said I am pretty sure I have seen it happen with Spotty as well. Like he said, unpredictable things happen when you start mixing installation methods... just don't do it. The plugin manager will automatically download the extension if it thinks there is a problem in the installed plugin folder.and since it only knows about the latest release via the repo.xml file, that's what gets installed. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. I am pretty I have seen Spotty update without me selecting it as well. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins updating unexpectedly
Recently I downloaded material skin from github and installed it over the released plugin. I've said this many times before and will repeat it: do NOT mess with the plugin installer. If you install a plugin using it get rid of it the same way before you install anything manually. And if you install manually, then do NOT install to the InstalledPlugins folder, but the Plugins folder instead (see Settings/Information). -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins updating unexpectedly
Recently I downloaded material skin from github and installed it over the released plugin. When I opened the plugins tab in LMS settings a couple of days later I noticed that I was being offered my previously installed release version as an update. As I didn't want to replace the github version I did not tick the box to update but I did install another plugin. After restarting LMS, material skin had been "updated" to the release version. Surely the plugin should not be updated unless I tick the box to allow it. I am pretty sure I have seen this behaviour before when I knew the latest version of a plugin had issues and I was prepared to wait for the next version but LMS decided to install it anyway. I don't allow plugins to update automatically.
