I changed from using a supported ReadyNAS to using a Pi with a hard drive storage plugged into it, but could just as easily have used the ReadyNAS as the storage. There is a FreeBSD LMS port which can used, or you'd have to build LMS yourself. I am so out of date on such things. How do you run LMS on a Pi? Is there a download with the operating system and LMS in one package? I also didn't know I could use external storage with LMS. You can run LMS on a Pi and lots of people do, it works well apparently (I do not so, going by feedback on here) The simplest way of running LMS on a Pi is probably "Pcp" (aka PiCorePlayer (Now v4.0.1)) There is a dedicated thread here for Pcp and you can find plenty of help in using external storage for LMS there Jeff *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezeLite-X,PiCorePlayer x3 *Server:* LMS Version: Latest Nightly on Centos 7.5 VM on ESXi 6.5.0U2 on Dell T320 *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud/Spotty/Player Groups *Remotes:* iPeng9/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite/SqueezeLite-X *Music:* 522GB,1660 albums with 23087 songs by 5204 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109644 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

You're probably the second or third person I'm hearing from who wants to install on FreeNAS. The problem is that LMS is a niche product. FreeNAS is a niche product, built on top of FreeBSD - which is rather niche compared to Linux, too. Overall this gives very few people and little experience. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a FreeNAS plug-in?
I saw that but I hoped things might have moved on with an official plug-in. I'm not sure what is involved in creating a plug-in. Your easiest "plug-in" might be a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with piCorePlayer... From what I've seen over the past weeks and months, installing LMS on FreeNAS isn't for you unlike you like to tinker and learn. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
