In fact, the problem was the "Stale file handle" message. This could be fixed by adding the "noserverino" parameter to /etc/fstab. Thanks to everyone who helped to find a solution. The last log.file was done with "find changes". Now I made a new scan with "clear and rescan" and the log.file is much longer (see attachment). I found the statement "Could not open ..mp3 for reading: Stale file handle". I think this could cause the problem. That shows it is really seeing the files. Was that a "clear and rescan" or "find changed"? If "find changed" then try a "clear". I changed all levels related to the scanner to "debug".

Try increasing the log level for the scanner. The listings were done as root - but LMS is running under a different user. Can you become that user and try to list again? When logged in to the system where LMS is running ... can you list the folders/files beneath the mount point? Those sub-folders/files need to have the correct permissions as well. On the Fritzbox I created a user with read and write rights for the corresponding folder. I created the folder on the Raspberry as root. In my opinion, the rights should be sufficient. Permissions on the folders/files? Can you access the files using something else that has the same credentials as LMS is using?
