In my case what appeared in mp3tag as a single YEAR tag with duplicate values (separated by ;) was in fact two YEAR tags. I only found them by looking at the extended tags. I deleted the offending tags, rescanned, and was happy with the results. The sentinel file and "delete/re-add" methods should work. Could this be an issue of ID3v1 vs. ID3v2 tags being out of sync? I removed the sentined file and the album reappears with the wrong year. I suspect that would work, but have not tried it. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic.
