A possibly minor issue is that the archive identifiers present are assumed to have an unbounded lifetime. In at least some servers stanza ids are computed from internal database identifiers, or constrained to being UUIDs, and so on - and these rules will not be the same between servers. Therefore if you're switching implementation, copying the data from one to another, the archive identifiers will necessarily change. No guidance is given in these cases, but it might be useful to have a validity indicator. Or that might be catering to a very niche case. Either way, this is very much a non-blocking comment, but I thought perhaps worth raising. > 3. Do you plan to implement this specification in your code? If not, > why not? > > Yes, I have done. > 4. [Standards] Council Minutes 2021-03-17
https://logs.xmpp.org/council/2021-03-17?p=h#2021-03-17-85765ff0a73eae60 1) Roll Call Present: Jonas, Zash, Georg, Daniel, Dave 2) Agenda Bashing Georg wishes to guide XEP-0280 through The Process™ on its way to adulthood. Jonas recommends that people should make their intentions for AOB known through random outbursts during the meeting, in the hope of avoiding a prolonged silence while everyone looks awkwardly at each other before eventually realising there is nothing more; thanks go to Dave for that excellent idea. 3) Editor's Update * Last Call issued for XEP-0313 (Message Archive Management) - implementers should respond [1] 4) Add Georg to the XEP-0280 (Message Carbons) authors - https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0280.html Georg notes that this was already discussed on the list [2], and Georg graciously volunteered; one of the original authors, Joe Hildebrand, has no objections to someone else taking over. Dave: +1 Jonas: +1 Georg: +1 Zash: +1 Daniel: +1 Jonas directs Georg to make any necessary changes to XEP-0280 and add himself as an author. Georg, as an official author, requests a Last Call - The Editor shall process that forthwith. 5) Pending Votes Votes required on PR #1044 from Dave, Georg, and Jonas - Jonas notes there was discussion on-list [3]. Georg thanks Fippo for the feedback, and will read up on that before voting. Dave votes +1. Jonas votes +1 (based on the positive feedback, lack of negative feedback, and own judgement that it's 'probably fine') Georg is also missing a vote on Content Rating Labels. 6) Date of Next 2021-03-24 1600 UTC [Note: DST is now in effect in North America, so the meeting time will appear to be one hour later for those affected; European DST begins on the 28th.] 7) AOB There were no random outbursts during the meeting. Georg laments the awkward silence. 8) Close Thanks everyone.
