Sorry about that Abhay. I'm away at the moment. As none of the other mentors
have been able to answer, we will reduce the instance count on the tasks to
better fit our resources.

Re: [Sugar-devel] About Scratch.activity

2020-01-14 Thread James Cameron
Hello Prakash.

You can look at the commit log of the Sugarizer repository to find how the
integration was achieved.

Filter the commits to the Scratch.activity directory, and then review each
commit at the diff level of detail.

Re: [Sugar-devel] [HELP] Introduction, GSOC 2020

2020-01-14 Thread James Cameron
Welcome Abhishek,

Of the opportunities to contribute, no more than about 2% are registered as
issues. You should not use issues alone as a way to contribute.

Other formal opportunities are listed as GitHub projects in the sugarlabs
organisation account, as GCI tasks, and as TODO or FIXME lines. We also have
an instance of trac at bugs.sugarlabs.org with more problem reports than we can
ever solve.

I've not seen your prior work, so I can't suggest anything in particular. I
suggest you use my mailing list post "How to get started as a Sugar Labs
developer [v8]" which you'll find in the mailing list archives on 18th November.

2020-01-14 Thread James Cameron
Thanks.

I'm almost always off-grid on Sundays. Specifically from sunset on my
Saturday, to sunset on my Sunday. I'm in the Sydney Australia timezone, but
about 400km away.

Also, this week I'm at linux.conf.au.

I expect to catch up with mail, pull requests, and issues some time next week.

I had mentioned this to several people, but perhaps other people were not on
IRC.

Re: [Sugar-devel] Problem with charts activity

2020-01-14 Thread James Cameron
Thanks for testing and reporting the issue Sanjay!

This activity is maintained by me, last release was in late October. But I'm
at linux.conf.au this week, so I'll be looking at the issue next week.

You can either try an older version of the activity, or see if you can get
someone else to investigate the problem for you.

The problem might not be caused by the activity; some of the problems are
caused by dependencies such as GTK. In that scenario, older versions of the
activity behave just as badly, and a workaround is to downgrade GTK. We don't
have instructions for that, as it depends on the Linux distribution you are
using.

If you have found a fix, please add it to the issue. You don't _have_ to make
a pull request if you aren't skilled in that.

Re: [Sugar-devel] About Scratch.activity

2020-01-14 Thread Lionel Laské
Hi Prakash,

The latest version of the Scratch for Sugarizer repos are here
https://github.com/llaske/Scratch.activity and here:
https://github.com/llaske/scratch-gui/tree/sugarizer
The idea of the integration is to include the full Scratch GUI into the
Sugarizer standard Activity Template. Then few ReactJS Sugarizer containers
and components are added in the Scratch GUI (hidden in the menu) to handle
storage in datastore and retrieving of assets offline.

If you're interested to learn more about writing Sugarizer activity with
ReactJS, I suggest you to study another Sugarizer activity written with
ReactJS, Exerciser. You could find the repo here:
https://github.com/llaske/ExerciserReact

Hope it helps.

Regards.

Lionel.

[Sugar-devel] Problem with charts activity

2020-01-14 Thread Sanjay Subramaniam
Hi,

There was a tiny issue with the Charts activity and I reported it here:
https://github.com/sugarlabs/chart/issues/7.
 I'm not sure if the
repository is actively maintained, so I thought I'll drop a message here.

Can someone tell me what do about this now?

Best,
Sanjay
