How can I mount a directory on my host machine from the FR? you don't have any directory. Instructions clearly state to dd to the physical device in /dev I have to access the image from somewhere. At 270Mb, it is to big to fit in flash at the same time as an OS. I can't plug in 2 uSDs, so I would like to mount the directory where the image is stored on the host computer, so that I can dd to the device in /dev Jeff ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: Om2009 testing Release 2
--- On Fri, 5/1/09, Angus Ainslie nyt...@openmoko.org wrote: Hi, After flurry of activity in enlightenment, paroli and oepnmebedded we have a new testing release. There were some problems with the gta01 images so tarballs only are released at this point. Please read http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Om_2009 for more details. Could you clarify a bit ... I assumed you meant there are no gta01 images, but that the gta02 image dated 1 May at: http://downloads.openmoko.org/distro/testing/NeoFreerunner/fso-paroli-image-om-gta02.jffs2 is the new release. It does have a different size from the old .jffs2. So I flashed it, then booted. A screen appears during the boot process saying Enlightenment which I don't remember from before (that doesn't mean it wasn't there) but when booting finally completes, I see exactly the same iconless screen as before, showing the wrong time, and 4 menu options - I/O, Msgs, Tele, People. Is this as expected? Incidentally, the wrong time is not just a timezone thing, it says 14:30 on 1st May and the actual time here (Zurich) is 12:47 on 2nd May. ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
disassembling the device?
Hi, while trying to get a better feel for the hardware, I tried to disassemble the device while looking at the entries about how to fix the bass problem. I discovered two screws, one of which was sealed, at the top of the case, but losening both didn't make the cover come off. Instead, it looked like the cover was somehow bolted to the body at two points around the middle of the device. I didn't find out how to remove the cover without using force. Are there any instructions online about mechanically disassembling and reassembling the device without destroying anything? TIA!
