Strange behaviour with submit buttons

2009-07-21 Thread Arne

Hi,
I upgraded to SeaMonkey 1.1.17 a couple of weeks ago, from 1.1.15 and
since then SM is behaving strange every time I click on a submit
button the first time for each browsing session.

Does not matter what site it is, where I click on the submit (Login,
etc) button. After I clicked the button is marked as clicked on
(vertical dotted lines on each side of the button text), I have to
wait for 6 or 7 seconds before anything happens and the browser start
to execute what ever the purpose for the clicking is for.

After that first use of a submit button, the following buttons I
(eventually) click on the same or other sites behave as they always
has done and should do. I have not notice such a delay on submitting
with my previous versions of SM.

Anybody experienced the same thing? What is the cause of this and can
it be fixed or is it fixed in future versions? It's not a big deal,
but getting a bit annoying.

TIA

SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 Previews the Next Generation

2009-07-21 Thread Robert Kaiser
It took a bit longer than previously expected, but that fact makes the
SeaMonkey team even more thrilled to announce SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1,
previewing the next generation of the successful Internet suite.

Building on the great heritage of the Netscape Communicator and Mozilla
Application suites, SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 combines a state-of-the-art web
browser based on the same core as Firefox 3.5.1 with a solid email and
newsgroups client and a simple HTML editor, rounding the experience with
web development tools and IRC chat.

In addition to the changes in the alpha releases, this version features:
  - the same browser core and web feature support as Firefox 3.5.1,
  - a reworked download manager, including support for cross-session
resumable downloads,
  - localized builds - Windows/Linux/Mac packages are available in 15
languages officially (2 additional are experimental) from day 1,
  - feed preview and improved feed subscription from the browser,
  - fully customizable mail/news toolbars,
  - mail archiving support,
  - and a lot of other, smaller improvements.

The release notes include a detailed list of improvements in comparison
to SeaMonkey 1.1.17, our current stable release.

We welcome any and all discussions on this beta on our newsgroups, or
you can even file a bug if you find one. Be sure to check our known

issues prior to filing bugs.

SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 is available for free download on the SeaMonkey
website. Once you have downloaded and installed this release, we'd like
to encourage you to get involved in discussing and reporting problems as
well as further improving the product.

Thanks for testing and helping us to make SeaMonkey even better!

Reinstalled SM on new computer - how to bring across from disk?

2009-07-21 Thread Boppy
Hiya, after days of hair pulling, the tech finally managed to rescue
my Seamonkey profile - Win Vista SP1 encrypted my whole JO
directory.
I've now got the SLT file sitting on an external drive called
wd4nx8pl.slt.
I've installed SM1.1.17.
What do I need to do to bring in all my old bookmarks, contacts,
passwords and mail?
All the helpfiles I can find deal with importing from other apps, so I
do apologise if this is an FAQ but I couldn't find exactly this
question answered.
Thanks in advance,
Jo
