SM 2.8 Is that a fake information ? Or are you really using SM 2.8 ???

It is not a release. If you wish you can test a nightly from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-comm-central-trunk/

Myself, i am compiling my own SM from the latest sources with the
addition of some private patches, hence the -h suffix. But these patches
have nothing to do with the value of lines in the threadpane.

In the message you have mentioned the header 'line' is missing,
therefore SM cannot use this header. It seems that older SMs use zero
instead whereas newer SMs seem to compute the real value.

I do not remember when this behavior has changed.

I am hoping that i have not made too much mistakes in the many words of
this message in the strange English language. *g*

Thanks for the clear explanations and the resaon why we have 0 lines
shown. Don't be afraid about your english ... it's ok ... i have the
same problem, my motherlanguage is french :-)

AFAIK, it should call up Mozilla's plugin check website and there some
JS runs and analyzes your plugins, telling it newer versions are
available, and if so, giving you links to install those.

When I visit about:addons, the status bar says Waiting for
static-cdn.addons.mozilla.net for the longest time... After about five
minutes, it finally displays a list of available addons. Then when I
click Plugins on the left, I quickly get a list of installed plugins,

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/dev/get-involved in discussing and

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.5/changes
but also includes a huge amount of browser bug fixes:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/8.0/releasenotes/buglist.html

Note:
2.5b4 has the fix included for:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=698753
[Entrust SubCA: 512-bit key issuance and other CPS violations; malware
in the wild] (verified against: https://utmshare.utm.my/)
2.5b3 does not. So it's probably a good idea to upgrade from 2.5b3

Updated and/or installed without any issues on:

Linux (Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04, 11.10) - 32 64bit.
Windows XP Win7.

Tested by allowing both updates from 2.5.b3 and by installing directly.
Linux installs were to a user home directory, and via Joe Leskow's
Ubuntu PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~joe-nationnet/+archive/seamonkey-beta

Works like a charm. AND, my favorite fix is for the zoom level bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=621823 and being able to
set what I want in toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues. Hooray!

Many thanks to the devs! Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, some bookmarklets no longer work or don't work the way
they used to:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=688841

In particular my Google and other search bookmarklets no longer pop up a
window for me to pre-fill search terms. They just go to a Google search
page. Bummer.

Wrong info in new messages pop up in lower right corner.

2011-11-18 Thread Rostyslaw Lewyckyj

SM 2.4.1 on Windows 7
Often when I select one of my email accounts
(usually the first, which is my principal account)
and choose to download all new messages, either via
the icon on the toolbar, or via ^D
and SM connects and downloads the messages for that
account a little pop up box appears in the lower right
corner of the screen stating that there are nnn new
messages in y.
The oddity is that the nnn matches the number of messages
downloaded BUT y names a different mail account.
E.g. I select my Bellsouth account.
 I download 15 messages
The little message box pops up stating that
You have 15 new messages in HEELMAIL
Checking the accounts, I find 15 new (tagged) messages
in the Bellsouth Inbox, But no new messages in the HEELMAIL
Inbox.

Does anyone else's system do the same?
Is this a known bug?

Cecil Bankston:

On one computer the Download Manager leaves the just-downloaded file at
the top of the list, allowing quick access for opening its folder or
launching the file. On the other computer, as soon as the download
finishes the list is sorted alphanumerically, leaving the new file out
of view. What could I set in SeaMonkey on the latter computer to keep
the new file at the top of the list?

'Tools-Downloadmanager' and in the new window 'view-sort by' is
probably what you want.

Yes, and delayed due to hardware issues with our build machines (when
they were back on-line, we first had to release 2.5 Beta 4 which had
already been affected by the delay).

So, where is SeaMonkey 2.5 final?

Scheduled to coincide with FF 8.0.1 (whenever that will be; I think it's

I haven't done what you're trying to do. Does this sound like it will
work for you?

Make copies of your profiles. Reinstall SM. If the new SM keeps the
profiles then no problem. If it doesn't, use the copies of your profiles.

I would download MozBackup and use it to make a backup of your profile
and then use it to restore from after the reinstall.

Your existing profiles may contain something you don't want.
Copying them and then putting them into a new installation may just
transfer the problem. (What IS the problem?)

You should be able to reinstall a new SM right over the old one.

BUTI would create a new profile first and see if all is Ok there.

Mozbackup is a GREAT program. I've been using is for about 8 years!
It will back up your profile files instead of you doing it manually.
It will then restore the files to the new installation.

BUT... You need to explain what you mean by security breach?
Does someone know your passwords?
Do you have malware or a virus?
Is it only SM that's affected?
