Re: strange happenings after installing 2.21
Roger Fink wrote: After I upgraded from 2.20 to 2.21 two major changes occurred, as follows: SeaMonkey 2.20 was not noted as being uninstalled. I had to go back and uninstall 2.20 from add/remove. 2.21 now starts from the following location: C:\Users\rff\AppData\Local\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe. There is NOTHING in the program files folder except for a plugins folder with plugins in it. The installation of 2.21 was the normal overinstall, like we've all done dozens of times. I can't believe this is by design, but I'd like someone to verify that. btw, the browser seems to work normally and the settings and customizations from 2.20 were carried forward successfully. Roger, when you type The installation of 2.21 was the normal overinstall, do you mean that you did an update to go from 2.20 to 2.21?? If so, the that files of your 2.20 install were modified as required to become 2.21, but in the same location as 2.20, so when you thought you were uninstalling 2.20, you were actually uninstalling 2.21. -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 SeaMonkey/2.18 Build identifier: 20130418192405 or User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 SeaMonkey/2.21 Build identifier: 20130827183508 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Uh, is there a way to remove the annoying e-mail attachment though of it? Yes, right click on the attchment and then click 'delete'. Add Securiy Exception
Recently, every time SeaMonkey starts to download my new Gmail messages it shows an Add Security Exception message indicating an invalid certificate, which I have to click to continue. The details show that it appears to be related to my Avast antivirus checking the SSL secured messages. I leave Permanently store this exception checked, but that seems to have no effect, as the message still pops up each time mail is checked. Is there any way to ensure that Seamonkey actually does store the exception? -- C. The procedure is outlined here (for Thunderbird, but it can easily be adapted to Seamonkey): https://feedback.avast.com/responses/mail-shield-related-ssl-eror-unable-to-get-local-issuer-certificate But, in a nutshell, you have to export the Avast certificate from the Windows certificate manager and import it to Seamonkey. -- MCBastos This message has been protected with the 2ROT13 algorithm. Thanks. Importing the certificate stopped the annoying popup message. I still wonder whether the lack of response to checking the Permanently store this exception box is a bug. I just do not want to see SeaMonkey handling click-to-play the way Firefox now is doing it. I did have a problem with click-to-play not working with some older themes in SM 2.21 and fixed it by patching them using material from new themes. It seems a bit strange that one site where I had to do more patching to themes to get the click-to-play and the webcam feed to work at all now works with the added themes, but not with the default themes! Does anybody know what the width of scrollbars has to do with the function of plugins click-to-play?
