Re: Windows XP wifi not connecting to the internet...helo!

I have gone to Wireless Network Connections as clicked "Refresh network list" and I receive as message as follows "No wireless networks were found in range". This seems very odd since I have another XP computer just three feet from this laptop and it connects without any difficulty. I have conducted this search with and without the direct cable connection between the laptop and the router...with the same results. I can connect to the internet via the cable connection between the computer and the router. I created a new connection via of the Wireless Network Setup Wizard and the new connection and it did not work without the cable being connected to the computer and the router. I will be very grateful for any help or suggestions sent my way for solving this problem. What I have found as a work-around is to edit the URL to remove everything after the slash after the hostname, which takes me to the home page and says I am logged in. At that point I hit the "Account" menu at the top of the page and select "Statements and Activity" item. This usually gets me to what I want, although once or twice I have gotten an error message about them having problems.
