Who is they and what did they change?

Here is the list of supported browsers.

"Requirements

Chrome
Version 66 or above

Firefox
Version 60 or above

Safari
Version 10.1 or above

Microsoft Edge
Version 41 or above"

Oh look! They don't even support Internet Explorer.

Looks like you have to keep using the desktop app.

Have you tried a 2.53 from here?

Looking for some basic help

2019-07-23 Thread Mark Saunders
HI, I’ve been using Dreamweaver with my MacBook Pro and would like to switch to
SeaMonkey.

Dreamweaver has a window that has my entire site hierarchy on my computer so
when I alter an existing page, the program knows exactly where to publish it.
Does Seamonkey have anything like this?

Is there a way in Seamonkey to download my entire site from the web to my
computer to establish my local site from which to alter pages and publish as
described above?

Thanks,
Mark

even with the various issues, I had the impression it was the pro type
(this from someone who wasn't shopping, so wasn't reading closely).
And of course as usual I waited for the beta testers ("early
adopters") to shake out the bugs before trying it. :-)

So in your opinion they're still trying to fix Win10?

WinME was the successor to Win95 and Win98, it was known right from the
start that it was the end of the line for that code base and the quality
suffered accordingly.
Windows NT 4 begat Win2000, and then WinXP, Vista, Win7, Win8(.1) and
Win10.  When Microsoft skipped "Windows 9" and went straight to 10, my
initial feeling was that they were skipping the next "decent version".
That turned out not to be the reason for the jump, programmers had been
testing for the string "Windows 9" to detect Win95 and Win98 hosts.

They are not "still trying to fix" Win10, they bring out a new feature
update every 6 months and this tight schedule means some serious bugs
get missed.  The new beta testers are those who apply those feature
updates when they come out rather than waiting a few months.

Finally, worrying about compatability between Seamonkey and Windows 10
does not really make sense - Windows 10 has been out for a few years now
and a large proportion of the Seamonkey users are exposed to it.

Well thankfully they put to rest with 1903 the 6 months new windows 10
cadence! It's going to be once a year going forward.

Have you tried with just the stock standard SeaMonkey User Agent string??
If I remove the override, I get the same "please update your browser"

I only get the message if I actually try to access a work space (so
anything you see when you view the main page means nothing since that
all works even for me)

Ah!! O.K., sorry for the noise, then, Jonathan.

It's seems working with my SM:
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 SeaMonkey/2.49.1
If I use that user-agent in the useragent override, I get "Please update
your browser or use the Slack app".

If I use this (my current go-to user agent for sites that don't work
properly with SeaMonkey and one that worked just fine for Slack until now)

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:64.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/64.0
it lets me log in and drops me at an app.slack.com url which then
displays a dark colored bar on one side and a white box in the middle
(but no content in either box when there should be content)

If I bring up the developer toolbar, I see an icon that says "5 errors,
1 warning" and I can't see how to display those 5 errors.

Jonathan, I was going to suggest that you update your User Agent info,
'cause the 'Firefox/52,0' was sooo out of date that it was probably what
the web-site was complaining about . but then, even with your
'Firefox/64.0' it seems to not work correctly, so I'm not sure what's
going on.

Have you tried with just the stock standard SeaMonkey User Agent
string?? When I enter https://slack.com/intl/en-au/ in my browser
address bar of my stock standard Win7 SM 2.49.5, with its standard UA, I
get to https://slack.com/intl/en-au/ so it knows I'm in Australia!

Someone needs to complain to www.slack.com, they need to fix their
user-agent sniffing.
