Hello Gerry,

It would also seem that The Guardian is also affected.

Comments are not shown but they work Chrome.

Try this page:

Same type of problem?

All these sites work in fine 2.49 but have serious issues in 2.53

Cool if you want to blame the site rather than Seamonkey when these
sites work on every other browser I tried. But since the other browsers
work I ain't buying it. The problem is clearly that SM doesn't have a
large enough crew to keep it working and lots of broken sites. It's a
shame as it clearly is the better browser. I love SM, I want to stay
here but daily I find sites that don't work correctly with it.

I don't trust Cromium at all, esp considering where it comes from.

SM Display problem

2020-06-12 Thread Mark B

Windows 10 home
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:60.0)
Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.53.2

Using NationBuilder for a political campaign. They have a tool called
Lists. People can be added to any number of lists for tracking and sorting.

The procedure is to go to a person's profile, then click "add to list",
then select the list you want to add the person to from a popup window
that has all the available lists.

Problem is the popup window is there, but SM doesn't display the lists
in the popup window. It's blank, but if I scroll down, I get a
turquoise field with an extremely large check mark. Can't add person to
any list from the popup window.

Doesn't work in SM even if spoof Chrome using prefbar as
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/603.25 (KHTML,
like Gecko) Chrome/79.0.3945.74 Safari/537.36

Works fine in Chrome.

Any ideas?

Thanx for verifying.
That is discouraging.
2.53.2 broke a tone of sites and plug ins. I'm seriously thinking of going
back to 2.49. This is very disheartening.
Still wondering when I'm going to finally move to a new browser. I'm not

I use Chromium Edge for the occasional github browsing ht that is it.

The onion is a real sh*t site. Not sure what js feature it needs but so far it
is in line with all the sites I have seen with problems and I can do without.
If I see a list of 10 or more extermal sites listed in NoScript needing to be

Someone else mentioned Home Depot and Reddit issues as some of them.
The other surprising one  is The Onion

For example works in Firefox but not Seamonkey.

Is this also in the 52.3 fix? What is happening with the no picture bug?

At least 2.52 fixed the go fund me page issue.

As an experiment, try this UA override:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

I am running the build by W9Gs Seamonkey 2.53.4 beta 1pre.  The pictures

Wow, I saw a lot of ghost windows with previous visits from a few
hours ago. I tried its "Minimize memory usage" button and it went
from 1 GB to 644.26 MB. All ghost windows were removed. Good.

I now and then check for them but ghosts became quite rare here in
recent SeaMonkey builds. Are you still using Adblock Plus by chance?
Had nothing but trouble with slowdowns and memory bloat with the
latest compatible 2.91 versions.

Nope. uBlock Origin. I need an ad blocker. :P

Yes. Also use it and NoScript.

Interesting. My 64-bit W7 says about 1.3 GB of RAM is in used (peaked at
almost 3 GB) after minimizing memory use. Memory reports show

Hello Gerry,

I've just looked at the page:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Event/composedPath

and it does seem to be defined unless "t" is not an Event object and it would
seem that it should work in Seamonkey but doesn't.

Something wrong Seamonkeys' javascript engine?

How about using Reddit's old web site design (http://old.reddit.com)
which is much faster and have less issues?
I agree with Ant: i ONLY use old.reddit. The new one is too
slowww and increase significantly memory usage.

Let's hope Reddit never remove it! I doubt they will keep it forever. :(

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering. :)

I have never seen mine above 650k.

Don't you mean 650 MB?

You are correct.  I meant MB... accidentally left off 3 zeros.
I currently have 5 separate instances of SM open to test
and am using 485,904K.
I don't have a win7 disk cache.  Ram cache only.

How about opening more YouTube's videos and other bloated web sites
(LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)? ;)

Why would I want to watch more than one youtube vid at a time?
:)  I don't belong to Link, Face, or Twit.

What?? Can't your brain multi-task, Paul??

Sorry, Paul, I forgot the ;-P after my last! ;-(

Hello all,

My challenge is when logging onto Reddit, I find that the website is
not fully rendering in terms of my not being able to see all posts and

I Am not able to click on many of the posts to read as well, mail or
messages to me directly are not being noted.

Any suggestions or ideas as to what the challenge might be?

TIA - bo1953
