These are for Thunderbird, but I think most/all are also applicable to
SeaMonkey:

Please go to .
Using the official terminology there, please indicate which pane you are
trying to address.

Not the column header with the icon in the left most column header.

I am talking about the icons in the left most column under the header
icon not the ones in the Subject column net to the post title.

Those icons in the left most column could use a tooltip.
Why? Just try to look an icon image in any form of help.

There also seems to be an icon with an eyeball.

Is there an official list somewhere?

The red circle with the diagonal indicates a thread that you have marked
"Ignore". This is done by selecting any message within the thread and
selecting the "k" key on your keyboard, by right-clicking on any message
within the thread and selecting "Ignore Thread" from the pull-down
context menu, or by selecting any message within the thread and then
selecting [Message > Ignore Thread] on the Thunderbird menu bar.

Normally, a thread marked "Ignore" will no longer appear in your thread
pane. You can select [View > Threads > Ignored Threads] to view ignored
threads. I am not sure, but you might also have to select [View >
Threads > All] if your settings have [View > Threads > Unread] or [View
> Threads > Threads with Unread] since ignored threads are automatically
marked "already read".

The other symbols seen at the left side of the thread pane are not
really icons. Among them are:
* a paper clip to indicate the message has an attachment
* a triangle to indicate the message is the first within a thread
* a left-pointing arrow to indicate you replied the the message

The left most column is a icon column (left of Subject).

The columns are configurable with simple drag'n drop so (left of
Subject) could be anything, From, Date, Spam,

How about putting up a tooltip over the different icons so we can do not
have to remember what the heck a particular icon means.

But there is. Mine displays "Sort by attachments" and is the paper clip
icon.

It is simple to do so please do it.

BTW what does the icon with a red circle and a line through it mean ?
Why do I have to worry about this ?

Also, what did I do to make that icon with the red circle and how do I
undo it if I need to for whatever reason there is to undo it?

Seems dangerous and restarting Seamonkey seems that changes were made
but I do not know what, so what did it do ?
