Hmm . . . Searched the 'Net which led to the add-on "Theme Font and
Size Changer". Seems to have solved the problem.

I strongly suspect that the latest version of the Theme Fpon & Size
Changer extension (version 51.0) will expire on 30 March 2017. On that
date, the tool bar icon for the extension will disappear; and certain
settings made through the extension will be negated.

This has been an ongoing problem with this one extension. No one seems
to understand why the developer is doing this, but it is very annoying.

If you want a non-expiring version, see my
.

Sounds interesting. How do I open the xpi file that is downloaded (i.e.
install the program)?

You do not open it. You download it.

1. On the SeaMonkey menu bar, select [Tools > Add-ons Manager].

2. On the Add-ons Manager window, there is a button near the top-right
-- to the immediate left of "Search all add-ons" -- that has the image
of a machine gear. Select that button.

3. On the resulting pull-down context menu, select "Install Add-on From
File".

4. On the Select Add-on to install window, navigate to where the file
was downloaded.

5. Select the file.

6. Select the Open button.

7. If you get a popup that indicates you must enable installation, do
so; and then repeat the prior steps.

Thank you! I didn't understand that, but now have got it installed and
all is working well.

Thank you for the suggestion and the help.

It is also annoying when it updates itself and displays a full page advert.

I download it to disk. Then I open it (File -> Open), same as if opening a
locally saved .txt or .html file. Verified this method works same as it did well
over a decade ago, on Win10 with SM 2.48, Chatzilla 0.9.93 and Theme Font Size
Changer 50.0.

Using the SM from which you typed this message?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
SeaMonkey/2.46

Or, is it on a Linux PC that just got some updates? If so, which Linux
distro and version, and using which WM or DE? What DPI and screen
resolution are reported if you load
http://fm.no-ip.com/Auth/dpi-screen-window.html in SeaMonkey?

Using the SM from which you typed this message? Yes.
It's 96 DPI and default font size 16px. Don't see anything that says
"screen resolution".
Note that the content of messages, sent and received, do not have the
tiny font.
