Do you think that Robert is stating that SM 2.0.1 will be perfect,
never to have anything found wrong with it in the future?

I would suggest that Robert is merely saying that some of the faults,
those that have so far been detected, will be fixed in SM 2.0.1.

In a years time, someone, somewhere may still find a bug in SeaMonkey
X.x.x, and at that time, the great gang of fella's that do the work on

No. It will be released when it's ready. For 2.1, we probably will
target next summer, but nothing is sure at this point.

Of course, 2.0.x updates will come roughly every 6-8 weeks, in sync with
the Firefox 3.5.x updates, the next one is 2.0.1 and scheduled for
December 15 or 16.

What Gecko version SeaMonkey 2.1 is planned to be based on - Gecko
1.9.3 (Firefox 3.7), or? Will there be a Gecko 1.9.2 (Firefox 3.6)
based version?

No, what I said is:
YES, some bugs peculiar to SeaMonkey will be fixed in 2.0.1.
YES, some bugs other than security bugs will be fixed there.
YES, some bugs are fixed other than those in Gecko for Firefox.

The bug list I posted earlier gives an overview of everything fixed in
2.0.1, including those specifically for SeaMonkey, and also those for
Gecko and Toolkit, which we share with Firefox. For anyone not in the
Mozilla security group, that list doesn't yet show the about 20 Gecko
security bugs that are additionally fixed, but from what you asked,
you're not interested in those anyhow.

Sure, everything that is already fixed in current nightlies will be

and currently contains almost 80 public bugs (about 20 more remain
closed for security reasons until the release is out).
Looking into that, you'll also find a number that are in the SeaMonkey
product or explicitely mention SeaMonkey in their summary, so there are
indeed things explicitely fixed for SeaMonkey in that 2.0.1 release -
once it's available.
