Not a problem, before I came online to get my mail, I switched SM
browser to Off-Line mode and was able to check-out some of the 6800
messages from this newsgroup.

You forgot a zero. There are currently 66915 msgs on this server:
http://newsgroupstats.info/reader/news.mozilla.org/mozilla.support.seamonkey.html

Well 66,916 now.

Hey, NoOp, did you see in my next para I mentioned 10% You and the
OP were supposedly having troubles downloading 1,000 messages, so my
6,800 was way, way, above your problem level!!

Interestingly, I thought if I downloaded 10% of the messages, it would
be the first (or last) 10%, but this was not the case. I checked the
root/original messages of the first fifty threads or so. First ten were
o.k., eleventh was missing, next half a dozen or so were o.k., then two
not downloaded, then more downloaded.

Never got the message that you, NoOp, or the OP, have been getting.
Seems to me I *only* got that message (in the past) if I was trying to
look at a message on a server/group which had a policy of expiring all
messages after a fixed time limit.

No comment about my last para above, NoOp??

You apparently have not tried what I suggest. Go ahead, do it then let

Continually getting the following article message day after day.
I click on Click here to remove all expired articles and the message
is cleared but returns the next day.

Article:

end of article

Another thing I have noticed is when news.mozilla.org is
first opened and SeaMonkey is scanning for new articles,
this news group initially shows, maybe, 8 unread articles then
drops to, maybe, one unread article. I am referring to the pain
on the left showing the news servers, news feeds, and email.
Hope that is clear.

I have tried the properties repair folder but this is not
a lasting solution.

I don't think this is a SeaMonkey problem but rather a news
server problem. I don't have this problem with any other group
on news.mozilla.org or any other server for that matter.

Another thing I have noticed is when news.mozilla.org is first opened and
SeaMonkey is scanning for new
articles, this news group initially shows, maybe, 8 unread articles then drops
to, maybe, one unread
article. I am referring to the pain on the left showing the news servers, news
feeds, and email. Hope that
is clear.

I have tried the properties repair folder but this is not a lasting solution.

I don't think this is a SeaMonkey problem but rather a news server problem. I
don't have this problem with
any other group on news.mozilla.org or any other server for that matter.

Recently this [SM support] ng wouldn't download for me... just stalled on downloading, until I finally
canceled the
download. I changed the storage to remove everything over 30 days old [it was showing 60K+ messages], but it
still

wouldn't download.

Next step, I deleted the newsgroup and subscribed again, and that took care of
the re-numbering process or
whatever they changed recently. Now the group is showing 110 total.

I've noticed there's been a BIG drop off in activity and I'm wondering if
others who have not upgraded to the
latest versions are having a problem downloading also. :)

Works ok for me. 37 messages since this time yesterday.
The 37 dropped to 7 though, due to previously kill filing the
threads for the other 30.

It's the news server. For some real excitement, use repair folder( that
or delete the newsgroup .msf) and elect to download all
mozilla.support.seamonkey articles... maybe by Monday they will finish
loading. I eventually have to give up and just download maybe a 1,000
headers instead, go fetch more, etc. BTW: it's not new; been like this
for just about as long as I can remember.

Forgot to add that I subscribe to multiple news servers and many
newsgroups news.mozilla.org is the *only* news server that I have this
problem with.
