Tests with Beta will not be 100% independent from your installed SeaMonkey, some WIN settings (Registry) might still have some control for the test version. If you want to be 100 % sure you will indeed need to use a VM. But this solution is VERY easy to do ... CU Rainer I use normally a standard windows user, not the administrator. Re: Would someone test this site for maps? NOW A SOLUTION!
regz91 wrote: Robert Gault wrote: I've been trying to determine why having a new profile permits maps to be drawn on the www.detroitgasprices.com site. The only thing that seems relevant is that my old profile prevents Java Platform SE 7 U25 10.25.2.17 from running automatically (ask to activate) while the new profile indicatesw this plugin is always active. Now this may not cause the change in drawing the maps but can anyone tell me why this Java plugin is accepted by the new profile and not the old? I have scripts turned on in Preferences for both profiles. Only way to fix old profile is to disable all plugins and extensions/addons and enable them one by one and also go through entire set of preferences in Edit==preferences. It is tedious if you have lot of plugins and extensions/addons. I had to fix my profile when i moved from 2.21==2.22 as addon compatibility addon which i had stopped behaving well. I still don't know exactly what was wrong but do have a simple solution. Testing by starting Seamonkey in safe-mode with all plugins deactivated did not help. Creating a new profile worked but it is almost impossible to transfer over all email and newsgroup accounts/messages. IMPORT from the mail newsgroup page in v2.22 does not work. When you use Tools/Import the from where page is blank and you can't get any further. What I did find is that making a copy of prefs.js and deleting or renaming prefs.js has the same effect as creating a new profile with one very major benefit. Seamonkey will crate a new prefs.js but you will still retain your bookmarks. You will also retain your extensions and email/newsgroup accounts and messages if you just transfer all of the user_pref(extensions and user_pref(mail.account entries for the copy of prefs.js to the newly created prefs.js. Subsequent editing of preferences in the normal manner is trivial to go back to any special features you had set previously. So in short, the upgrade from 2.21 to 2.22 must have resulted in some incompatibility in prefs.js which Seamonkey did not report nor auto-correct. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

I've been trying to determine why having a new profile permits maps to be drawn on the www.detroitgasprices.com site. R. Since I used a Gmail server, I changed the reply-to address to my Gmail address, and was able to submit to the newsgroup without the error message. Even though it does not transmit to an individual address with my other settings, it still posts to the group. With patience, I believe it is now fixed. Now if I could only fix the hijacking. L.
