I might be mistaken but afaik by heart it always suggests the same
\program files\Seamonkey directory by default.

The /default/ SM 2.0 installation directory is different than the /default/
SM 1.1.X installation directory.

The important point to understand is that it is possible for a user to have
selected the 2.X default installation directory for the original installation
of SM 1.1.X, resulting in the installation of 2.0 installing over the top of
SM 1.1.X. ... this is not likely, but still possible.

So could you please name the two default ones? (or at least the default
one for SM2, I'm pretty sure SM1 goes to \Program Files\Seamonkey - does
SM use \Program Files\Seamonkey2 by default?)

thanks

Sorry, I don't know them off-hand, but I remember seeing that they are
different.

Perhaps someone else here knows?

Don't quote me (because I don't installation SM into its default
location) but I'm pretty sure I've seen someone here state that SM 2
installs, by default, into a Seamonkey2 folder/directory.

Which just struck mea while back Robert Kairo stressed that the
programs name is SeaMonkeynote the capital M, but not in the
folder/directory name.

Install SM2.0.1 to a new directory, close down SM1 completely (including
the quicklaunch in the systray next to your clock if you're using it).
Afterwards try to fire up SM2. If it doesn't start, what exactly happens?
