I must dig out the archive and have a listen again. I just delivered the files 
to the chaps doing the video presentation, which was for VIPs only, so I never 
got to hear what they did with the audio in the end. 

I may post files - you never know!

By the way, when can we expect a Rycote Cyclone for a Soundfield? And a M/S 
array, come to that. Hurry them along a bit down there in the west-country.

As a matter of interest did this arrangement give you lower engine 
noise? I can see that spaced directional mics could be used for that 
purpose, putting the dead side of each mic to the source. Or was the 
engine noise so LF that it wound its way into everything anyway?


Mind you, I don't suppose the spatial image from this array was terribly 
attractive;}

Thanks for the insight John. I'm on a bigger than ship than you were but my
biggest worry is the engine noise. We'll be on an ice cutter and my hope is
that the squealing and crushing of the ice somewhat overpowers the engine.
That and some careful EQ in post.
