Re: [biofuel] Searching for a processor

2003-06-12 Thread CH

Hi Pam,

I would suggest that you contact a few environmental groups as well as
agricultural associations and ask them if they know of anyone or even a group
such as a biodiesel cooperative that might be making biodiesel in your area. If
there is anyone making it, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to pick up your
grease, as long as you do your part by keeping the grease as contaminate free
and possibly even doing a coarse filtering and then putting it in appropriate
containers.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

Chris

RE: [biofuel] Searching for a processor

2003-06-12 Thread Peter

Dear Rajesh,
I would like to have some more details on how you are using the waste
oil from the hotel. Are you running the Gensets on pure WVO or mixing
it with normal distillate diesel oil?
Also do you filter and drain water before storing?
What engines are running with the WVO (Perkins/CAT/Cummins ect)

Any details would be much appreciated.

Hi Pamela,

I will intriduce myself, i am a chemical engineer and doing research in
development of biodiesel as a alternative fuel in motor vehicles in
Indian Institute of Technolgy New Delhi, India.

The used cooking oil can processed to produce biodiesel.THe process set
up is simple and set in hotel itself and utilized for running diesel
gnerators. It will save fuel usage.

THink over it, if u want any help please fell free to contact.

RE: [biofuel] Searching for a processor

2003-06-10 Thread steckly . gary

You might want to check with the NRA (no, not the National Rifle
Association... the other NRA - National Renderers Association)

http://www.renderers.org/links/home.htm
http://www.renderers.org/links/home.htm

In Canada, one of the bigger renderers is Rothsay Concentrates.
http://www3.sympatico.ca/rothsay/ http://www3.sympatico.ca/rothsay/ They
seem to have a grease bin in back of just about every restaurant I've
checked at, which makes it rather difficult to find someone like me who is
still looking for a source of used vegetable oil. I believe Rothsay now
even pays for the grease they pick up.

Also, it seems that they are aware of the biodiesel potential, as they have
provided an informative link to the pilot project in Montreal where they are
running several city busses on the stuff... an interesting read for you
biodiesel advocates. http://www3.sympatico.ca/rothsay/montreal.html#bio
http://www3.sympatico.ca/rothsay/montreal.html#bio

Good luck in getting your oil disposed of... I wish I lived closer and I
would definitely help out (Ottawa to Virginia is a bit too far to go for
free fat ;-)
