Re: [SWCollect] Coin identification

2003-09-07 Thread Marco Thorek
Google turned this up:

http://dmweb.free.fr/CSBManualOld.htm

So the coin is indeed from a Dungeon Master game.

Sorry for including attachements, but I was hoping somebody could
identify this coin for me. It came loose in a large box of Amiga and
PC games. It may have come from one of the games or maybe not.

On the heads side it says GOR on the bottom. On the tails side it
says Danger Thus Reveals its Face and has several runes. (There is
also a bird picture on each side of the Danger text.) The art
reminds me of Dungeon Master, which was in the box along with Chaos
Strikes Back, but I don't remember those coming with a coin (and my
 other copies are in storage).

 Any clues?

Re: [SWCollect] Ultima 11

2003-09-07 Thread Marco Thorek
You can't imagine how much I believed that my first car had a soul.
Still up to today I feel like I somehow betrayed it when I finally had
to give it away.

And I too prefer to fix things instead of giving up on them. Perhaps
that is a trait common to software collectors.

Oh well, as long as I don't live in a self-created junkyard things
should be ok ;-)

Interesting, that is my belief also. That is why I hate to waste

Re: [SWCollect] Radio Shack The Legacy

This reminds me of the Star Wars (action game, Vektorgrafix) boxes that had a
little blinking LED on the front.

Aw geez, I remember seeing one of those so long ago. Had I know it had
that in there I woulda nabbed it in a second. What sort of sadist
makes an OEM reprint of a game a collector's item, anyway? I believe
the box was nearly all black?

Yeah black with orange letters. The box must be thinner than the
original release because the manual and cards are too big for it, too
wide. I've never seen one for sale other than mine, never really looked
though. Speaker thing has 3 small watch batteries in it, I think light
activates the sound when you open the box. Pretty cool :)

Thanks,
Tom
