I'd say here's where the problem begins and it still UPC network
I think.

There is a old windows bug with .255, maybe it's still not solved.

Yes, time to upgrade :) (via google: "windows 2003 255 ip address") and
then added "kb".

Re: [swinog] Spam-Points if there is no SPF Record?

Hi Oli

A Customer just forwarded me this which is more or less a confirmation that
Google (and Sunrise who uses Google Mail Services) do penalize emails from
domains with no SPF:

http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?hl=de&answer=33786

"Wenn für Ihre Domain kein SPF-Datensatz vorhanden ist, werden Nachrichten von
Ihren Nutzern möglicherweise von einigen Empfängerdomains abgelehnt, da nicht
bestätigt werden kann, dass die Nachrichten von einem autorisierten
Mailserver stammen."

Is google switzerland reading this list?

Do we really have to start using "v=spf1 +all" to make google accept our
emails?

We've had a similar problem with Google Mail - a freshly created domain name
for the conference (unknown on the net earlier) - all emails sent to Google
Mail ended up in Junk, unless people wrote us first or somehow added
to contacts. We didn't do SPF, we didn't do DKIM (unfortunately) either.

But this was highly annoying (our corespondents resorted to use
whatever non-Google alternative accounts they have had).

Just a quick note regarding the mailinglist of swi...@swinog.ch:

There is _no_ moderation. Any message which is stuck in the queue is going

If you happen that your message to the list is not distributed (i.e. showing
up in the archive http://lists.swinog.ch/public/swinog/), it is discarded.
Ensure that your sending parameters are correct and resend.

Hi Fredy,

I have noticed, however, that:

- Some emails do not get properly archived:

  http://lists.swinog.ch/public/swinog/2010-November/004784.html

It arrived in full to me via the mailing list, I think others
got it too. Yes, there was a valid ">From" marker at the beginning
of the second paragraph.

- Almost the whole thread on "Blocking Malware distribution sites" did
archive properly on gmane, too: there is

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.org.operators.swinog/9044/match=blocking+malware+distribution+sites

but this is gone:

http://news.gmane.org/find-root.php?message_id=<4CDB99CD.7020307%40switch.ch>

Maybe it's a gmane problem.
