[swinog] Upgrade Main Power Supply
IXEurope is writing to you to inform you that as part of the remedial action to prevent a repeat of Monday evenings power incident, the landlord and IXEurope have arranged to have EWZ/Deltasys attend site to carry out an upgrade to the Main Power supply to the building by 25% at 0:00 tonight. This will require the Datacentre to be running on UPS Batteries for up to 5minutes whilst EWZ perform this operation. No power outage is expected , however preparations will be made by the technical staff in case of any problems or in the unlikely event of another outage. A new, larger capacity, temporary Diesel Generator has been ordered and is expected to be online by Wednesday the 9th of July. We are upgrading the power supply before the temporary Diesel Generator is installed because we believe that the risk of problems during the upgrade operation are small compared to the risk of an outage between now and when the Generator is brought on-line due to forecasted increase in ambient temperature in the Zurich area over the weekend.
