Problem with Outlook 2010, not reading the address and subject lines

2016-07-12 Thread Naomi Knudsen via Talk
Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows10, and I am using WindowEyes 9.4. I have just
discovered that WE will no longer read the address or subject lines when I am
trying to send an email message using Outlook 2010. This happens even though I
have sighted help telling me there is info in those lines. What adjustment do I
need to make this work properly again? Thanks for any help.

Blessings,
Naomi in Michigan

Reinstalling WindowEyes

2016-06-23 Thread Naomi Knudsen via Talk
I would like to uninstall WE 9.4.0.0 then reinstall it again with the hope that
this may solve some of the issues I have been having since upgrading to Windows
10. How can I do this? The most current hard disc I have for WE is 7.4 which I
don’t think will work at all with Windows 10. Thanks for any help.

Naomi in Michigan

RE: Menus

2016-06-20 Thread Naomi Knudsen via Talk
I have checked that all apps are updated, and I have reinstalled WE 9.4.0.0,. I
have looked for diagnostics or repairing Windows video driver under apps, but
even with sighted help, I could not find these.

I am still having the problem that WE will not read the menus even though my
sighted husband tells me that they are clearly there.

If I can not work out this problem, I will be forced to go to another screen
reader.

Is there anyone willing to help?

Blessings,
Naomi in Michigan

go to apps/diagnostics/repair windows 10 display driver and
see if that helps.

Regretfully, I don't have this setup available to test. But, you should
definitely check to make sure that the correct Office set files are installed
and loaded when using Word (e.g. Office 2010). Maybe others on this list are
using Word 2010 on Windows 10 and can let you know if they are having the same
issue. But, I suspect that the combination of Office 2010 and Windows 10 is not
very common and not heavily tested.
Best,
Marc

I am using Office 2010, Windows10 and WE 9.4.

With Windows7 in a Word document, I could press the alt key then tab across to
?font" and "font size?. From either of those tabs, I could arrow up and down to
choose a font or a font size.

Now, after upgrading to Windows10 and WE 9.4, when I follow these steps, when I
try to arrow up and down to choose a different font or font size, WE just says
?blank? repeatedly.

Naomi,
Are you using the Ribbon or Font dialogue to make these adjustments? What
version of Word? Can you list the exact steps you are using when the problem
occurs?

Marc

Moving a Book File from my Computer to my PlexTalk

2016-06-09 Thread Naomi Knudsen via Talk
Please Help,
My computer has just been updated to Windows10 and WE 9.4, and I am having to
learn how to do some things a new way.
With Windows7, when in my download folder of zipped book files, I could click
the alt key and a context menu would come up with the option to “extract all”.
Clicking on this would unzip the file and move it to my PlexTalk. This doesn’t
happen with Windows10. I have tried cut and paste, which works, except the file
is still zipped and not readable on my PlexTalk.

Is there a key combination that will bring up this context menu in Windows10?

Does anyone on this list have experience with Windows10 and moving book files
from a computer to a device and would be willing to give me step by step
directions?

Thanks for any help,
Naomi in Michigan
