I have checked that all apps are updated, and I have reinstalled WE 9.4.0.0,. I
have looked for diagnostics or repairing Windows video driver under apps, but
even with sighted help, I could not find these.
I am still having the problem that WE will not read the menus even though my
sighted husband tells me that they are clearly there.
If I can not work out this problem, I will be forced to go to another screen
reader.
Is there anyone willing to help?
Blessings,
Naomi in Michigan
go to apps/diagnostics/repair windows 10 display driver and
see if that helps.

Regretfully, I don't have this setup available to test. But, you should
definitely check to make sure that the correct Office set files are installed
and loaded when using Word (e.g. Office 2010). Maybe others on this list are
using Word 2010 on Windows 10 and can let you know if they are having the same
issue. But, I suspect that the combination of Office 2010 and Windows 10 is not
very common and not heavily tested.
Best,
Marc

I am using Office 2010, Windows10 and WE 9.4.
With Windows7 in a Word document, I could press the alt key then tab across to
?font" and "font size?. From either of those tabs, I could arrow up and down to
choose a font or a font size.
Now, after upgrading to Windows10 and WE 9.4, when I follow these steps, when I
try to arrow up and down to choose a different font or font size, WE just says
?blank? repeatedly.

Naomi,
Are you using the Ribbon or Font dialogue to make these adjustments? What
version of Word? Can you list the exact steps you are using when the problem
occurs?

Naomi, if you are using Office 2007, then you only need to press the
'context menu key'. Then you simply arrow through till you get to
'fonts'. When I pressed enter on fonts, I could here all my choices.
I just tried this and all worked fine. I am using W.E.9.4 on a
Windows 10 system. Give this a try. Good Luck & Have A Good Day! de

I have Word 2010, Windows 10 and Window-Eyes 9.4.
I can press alt for the home tab and then tab to font. I can then arrow down
through a list of fonts, or I can tab to size, and again, arrow through a list
of sizes. I can also just type what I want in the edit boxes.
Instead of using the menu, I press control-d for font. I can tab to size from
there, but the quickest way to increase size is to press control-greater than
to increase it and control-less than to decrease it. The default size is 11
points, but after that it skips to an even number and goes up or down by 2
points.
My apps are all current and the set file is current for Word 2010.
Also, the display driver for Windows 10 has been repaired.
HTH.
Rebecca

Hello:
Just letting folks know re my jurney to windows 10.
I was running windows 7 and we 9.4 and was reluctant to update to windows
10.
So my grandson came and I said let's do it.
I am now running windows 10 and quite pleased.
Did the normal update, then after instlling, I reinstalled 9.4 of we.
It was still not quite and after checking with we support was advised to go
to the apps, then to diagnosis and to I think it was to reinstall or repair
the video drivers and bingo, windows 10 is running very smoothly.
I find no bugs and I just have to learn some of the new features.
I have a normal desktop, finding the start page is fine, outlook email is
working fine, now all I have to learn is that sneaky ribbon.
Cheers
I do feel a sighted helper is an asset.
Don
