RE: NVDA link

2016-10-06 Thread Micallef Michael at FITA via Talk
Dear linette,

You can get NVDA from the following page:

http://www.nvaccess.org/post/announcing-nvda-2016-3-release/

Personally I wish that window-eyes manage to survive for another 10 years
because it cost me enough money.

Thanks,

Obviously, my membership on this list shows where my loyalties are.
However, just in case I need it, I would like to have a link from which to get
NVDA. Could someone send me one?
Thank you.

Peace.

Hi Linette,

here is a link from my web page for NVDA 2016.2.
You can install this version and right away NVDA will say there is a newer
update, NVDA 2016.3, just hit ok and download that newer version and you are
off and running.
The synthesize voice is not the best, but if you own Kurzweil 1000 software
you can use the Eloquence or Paul, Kate, or James voices from that.

Re: NVDA link

2016-10-04 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk

Linette,

I would recommend installing NVDA and taking the time to learn at least
the basics. I know how to do next to nothing with it. But I do know how
to get around enough to use it when I need it, which is very rare.
However, for reasons I won't bore you with, I had to use it over this
past weekend, which was the first time I ever used it for more than a
few minutes. It wasn't fun but it did get me through the weekend.

Regards,
Tom
