Hi Ivan,

My guess is that you accidentally activated the Insert-Key layout.
Press Control-Alt-0 to toggle it on and off.
When off, your numpad should behave normally.

My computer has just updated to the Anniversary edition. I could not
intervene in the process because I could not recall the key stroke to
initiate narrator. The process went well except that I now have a problem
with the keypad. I can't bring up the time and date. When I hit control and
5 on the key board it only says 5 instead of  reading the current line. Any
suggestions please.

the narator keys are windows enter to turn it on or off and the date and time 
is t insert

Hi Ivan!

If I am understanding you correctly I think what you want to do is to 
make certain that the numnlock is turned off and then it actually reads 
the entire line.  To here the time and date you press the incert t.
