RE: Winamp playlist editor is silent when arrowing up and down

2016-05-17 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Chris,

I don't use Winamp scripts myself, but I know that there must be a set file
associated with the Winamp Playlist Editor in order for navigation to speak.
If you open the WE profile folder, sort the folder by name, and navigate to
files starting with the letters winamp, you'll find a file with the .set
extension, and perhaps more than one.
One of these needs to be associated with the playlist editor and so you may
need to do this manually yourself.
Once you do this, you'll be fine.

Best,

Rod

Hi. Yep, Window-eyes always, always announces which Winamp
window I'm in, when pressing control plus tab, Windo

-eyes successfully announces which window I'm in. if I press alt plus w to
close the main Winamp window, Window-eyes says, main Winamp Window
closed. Press alt plus w again and Window-eyes says, Main Winamp
Window active. Same for the equalizer, and the playlist editor. Also,
if I press the alt key and arrow down to the Winamp pulldown menu and press
enter, Window-eyes also successfully announces wether or not the main
Window, the equalizer or the playlist editor are checked or unchecked. If
that item is checked, it's open. If its not checked and just names the
window, it's closed. i.e. If the playlist window is opened, Window-eyes
says, playlist editor checked. if it's closed,
Window-eyes just says playlist editor. So this isn't a matter of not
knowing wether or not a window is open or cclosed. It's exactly like I've
been saying, if I have a playlist of songs, Window-eyes simply does not read
any of the items in the playlist when pressing the up and down arrow keys as
its supposed to. I don't hear anything, there's no voice feedback whatsoever
with or without scripts installed. I hope I've been clear enough here, sorry
if I wasn't clear before.
I'm starting to think it's something very specific to my system. It's
running Windows 10 64-bit.

 Thanks.

Just curious, have you verified with the mouse keys at the playlist is even
open? When you do a control tab it should tell you what is opening whether it's
the main window or the playlist window or the equalized etc. If you like, email
me off list and I will send you my phone number, maybe we can come up with
something.p

classic one, and indeed, it is. I've tried every trick I can think of,
and nothing seems to work. This is a brand new pc running Windows 10
64-bit.

Great ideas for sure and I definitely appreciate it! I hope I can get
it working again.

Hi folks
I just now noticed that this was happening, the subject line basicly says it.
For whatever reason, when arrowing up and downin the Winamp playlist editor,
Window-eyes 9.4.0 does not speak each item as I arrow up and down to it. in
other words if I arrow up and down, nothing happens. I've tried resetting the
scripts produced by Jeff Bishop and even gone so far as to remove them,
thinking their may be some kind of odd conflict somewhere. Unfortunately,
nothing I've tried helps, and I've tried absolutely everything I can think of.
  Does anyone have anyideas?
Thanks.
