Yea, we had pretty good success having highschool students add in
attributes for buildings using walking maps! We concentrated on Wheelchair
accessibility, but ended up adding addresses, and other critical
information. It was handy that Brandon Manitoba already had buildings to
use, but the process could be easily repeated. One issue that you mention
is using street complete, It's a wonderful program, but there's issues with
the students having profiles and privacy. For our purposes with editing
buildings we had Rob create an OSM ID for the students to use.

is currently closed, perhaps for refurbishment. Therefore at present our

If the Old Silk MIll has not reopened by then, likely alternatives are The

I am looking for a good photo of mappers mapping during survey. It turns to be 
surprisingly hard.

Can someone share/link one?

- I am not interested in photos of groups of mappers before mapping or after 
mapping
- I am not looking for image of people sitting in front of computers and 
ebntering data
- I am looking for good photograph that is not blurry/low resolution/overexposed
- I prefer to avoid highly noticeable ads in background or on clothes of mappers
- It would be great to show faces of people that can be recognised as mapping 
something

I tried searching via standard googling, and also looking at more specialized 
searches.
I failed to find anything useful at OSM wiki – even

had no picture of mapping until today (I just added one)!

io posso dare una mano, portando la mia esperienza attuale.
Inoltre ho iniziato uno script per svolgere alcune operazioni utili
[0], nel corso del tempo verrà ampliato con supporto anche a osm2pgsql
e la conversione per fare l'inserimento in Infomont.

The National Grid per se is not covered by copyright.

The newer transformations used to produce highly accurate grid references
may be, but in fact OS has licensed  the most recent (OSTN15) under the
permissive BSD licence:

The issue is not a grid ref itself as such, but the data tables
that are necessary to do a fully accurate conversion between OSGB
and WG84 (or any other coordinate system).

There is a simplified algorithmic transformation but a fully
accurate conversion requires the OSTN02 data.

I'm not sure what the current status is but they certainly used
to claim various IP rights over it.

di creazione/correzione relazioni. Il CAI stesso (in Emilia-Romagna
intendo) ha delle difficolta' ad avere una lista esatta di quali sentieri
esistono e di chi e' la competenza: una volta creata questa lista la si
utilizzera' per poi censire quelli gia' esistenti su OSM e creare le
relazioni ove manchino.

Are these covered by copyright? I've found conflicting opinions:

out of copyright in 1986 - since it was 50 years since the introduction of
the NG in 1936

and

"current case law supports this ownership, given in Ordnance Survey vs
Younger and others (Ch 10 April 1995), in which Sir Jeremy Vinelott,
sitting as a Judge of the High Court, ruled that "OS copyright material
includes the National Grid" and that "the OS retain the right to refuse to
allow ... [someone] ... to use the National Grid", a right taken up in that
case. "

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I will do the one 20 meters from my home, once they start going. They're

アクセス制限記述におきまして、
motorcar が定義上、agricultural を含んでいるとすれば、
"motorcar=yes && agricultural= yes" という記述箇所（自動車専用道路）は冗長で、 "motorcar=yes" 
の記述のみで済むと思います。

mapu okolí, což je na dvě věci.
Na openstreetmap.org šipka s otazníkem (Průzkum prvků), kliknout na
konkrétní objekt, a vybrat odkaz na něj z toho, co se nabídne.

Z toho tvého popisu se nedá poznat, co vlastně konkrétně chceš. Vybrat "to
modré" co není zmapováno tak, jak si představuješ jaksi nejde...
Pokud ti jde o landuse=reservoir, stačí upravit ten dotaz
na overpass turbo, případně si udělat
vlastní přes "Wizard". Zas tak složité to není.

Donc on peut avoir des tracés très similaires surtout si c'est le même
contributeur (la méthode de saisie sera la identique) et si les fonds
utilisés sont les mêmes BING et autres
C'est du crowdsourcing.

Waze à utiliser TIGER comme Openstreetmap pour alimenter les données US.

Les docs, techniques et données de bases de saisie sont très proches voir
les identiques.

Jak bych vygenerovat seznam vodních ploch se špatnou kategorií - tedy takových 
které jsou jako “land use” nikoliv jako “pond”, “lake”, “reservoir”.

Případně je plocha jako water bez dalšího upřesnění.

Ideálně kdyby to šlo vygenerovat - setřídit podle velikosti - tedy plochy.

Díky za nápad případně za seznam linků. Snažím se v přehradách a rybnících 
udělat trošku pořádek a toto by mě pomohlo.

J’ai remarqué ça aussi, un parking assez tordu à mapper s’est retrouvé
identique dans waze. Par contre pas ceux à côté.

De même que Gwenaël je suis totalement opposé à l'idée d'introduire des 
"oeufs de pâques" dans OSM. Dans mes présentations d'OSM que je fais aux 
étudiants en géomatique, je ne me prive d'ailleurs pas pour dénigrer ces 
pratiques chez les producteurs de données géographiques propriétaires. 
C'est d'ailleurs un point qui les étonne, la plupart ne sont absolument 
pas au courant de ce genre de pratiques.


Par contre le fait d'avoir des informations tellement détaillées (comme 
les chemins privés) qu'on puisse être quasiment sûrs qu'elles 
proviendraient d'OSM, là on est tout à fait dans l'esprit !

[Talk-it] Catalogazione sentieri CAI Emilia-Romagna

Buongiorno,
Ieri sera sono stato alla sede CAI di Bologna a discutere della situazione
sentieri su OSM e cercare un attimo di organizzare una volta per tutte la
catalogazione di tutti i sentieri dell'Emilia-Romagna su OSM. Qualcuno
sarebbe interessato a formare una sorta di team disposto, lavorando col
CAI, a seguire la parte di trasferimento dei dati su OSM?

nel rendering di carto c’erano dei dati NE per i livelli bassissimi e per la 
copertura del suolo urbana, intorno a z10, ma non è fondamentale e c’erano 
proposte di sostituire, pensavo avessero già fatto, al meno in parte.

+1, in QGIS si può salvare l’informazione geografica insieme all’immagine in 
export, ma non è attivo di default

Anzi! mi sa che molti degli SVG puoi trovarli su commons (sicuramente
però non georiferit)

Meglio fare alcune considerazioni:
- i confini sono un argomento molto delicato
- i dati di naturalearthdata sono rilasciati in cc0
- osm include i dati di  naturalearthdata
