Re: [OSM-talk] OSM maps in 3D
At least I'm interested in a Java framework to render maps respective layers from OSM data. Then I dream of an easy configuration of render rules. Better: The rules can be extracted out of the features pages of the wiki.openstreetmap.org! Then any feature change of the community would change the rendering.. >On 18 Jul 2008, at 09:35, Robert Vollmert wrote: >This topic has, though made me think about revisiting my old >'Britain' app and adapting it to OSM. Hi Igor, that looks really nice :-). >From what do you get the relief information? From contour lines? Re: [OSM-talk] online routing service with osm data
Wow, its really easy to handle, even if I couldn't get some information in the "Get information"-mode -- at least in the center of Berlin. But a problem turned out with calculating the route for pedestrians. The routing mechanism doesn't route along some roads. In http://data.giub.uni-bonn.de/openrouteservice/?zoom=15&lat=6889335.08669&lon=1486725.17222&layers=0B0 is the problem the red main road (Hauptstraße). The pedestrian way goes all way through Bülowstraße in the north, while the shortest route goes through all other roads. Obviously, not all 'highways' allow pedestrian to walk on. Or how is it thought? It's quite interesting, because I never tagged a road as allowed for pedestrians... [OSM-talk] street directory from OSM data
Hello, I'm quite curious if there is already a possibility to generate a street directory for a part of the OSM data in order to have a useful street map of a city. Is it? I've looked a bit but I didn't find something. If there is no such a program I'll going to program it. My idea is to define a grid on a rectangle part of the OSM data (a city for example). Then, with giving every box in the grid a tag (like on chess board), just parse the OSM data and assign streets which are lying geographically in a certain box to the tag of that box. As an application, this directory could be printed next to a map. On that map, sure, a layer with the grid must be printed. What do you think? cheers, Stefan ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk
