The Mapnik (default) map only updates once a week. The Osmarender map
 updates upon request.

Requests are auto-generated by the server every 4 hours for osmarender
layer (tilesAtHome), based on new/changed nodes.

How long does server wait before gives the same tile again to another client ?
On my dual-core machine with 3Gb of RAM I run two tilesGen.pl instances (fork=0
, with different tmp dirs )
When server gives complicated tiles to both instances to render I simply do
kill -STOP pid_of_shell_process_above_inkscape to in order to stop one instance.
So rendering one tileset may took about 10 hours . I'm a little worried that
server may give stopped tile to another client.

This is only for TomTom machines but I have a Palm OS PDA. I want to
track zones but I don't know how to include street names in tracking. I
think if I use TomTom maps and log these routes I can make my own gpx
files to upload in Open Street Map. I want to track all of my zones
because there isn't any track maked. Can you send me some ideas ?? I
think if I track my routes with pathaway, cetus or coto, I only have
positions, points of my route but I haven't street names, zone names...

Whichever method of obtaining traces you use you still need to gather the
street names separately, either by writing them down as you travel, by
photographing them, or by using a Dictaphone/voice recorder.

I find this project today and I want to start today! I am very happy to
contribute to it!

Do spend a little time to read the various newbie pages and FAQ stuff on the
wiki. You might also have a play with potlatch (the online editor accessed
via the Edit tab on the OSM home page) in practice mode before you upload
data for real. Its worth spending a little time to get to know the tools.

Cheers

Andy

Thank you!

I presume you mean a Palm with TomTom software?
Yes, I only have a Palm with TomTom software.

Or do you have a fully fledged TomTom as well as your Palm?

If the former, then your question is just a OSM on Palm question. If
the latter, see the TomTom page in the wiki.
I don't understand this... Can you explain a bit more ?

tomtom software, AFAIK, does not include tracking, so you'll need a
separate application. Check this page:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/GPS_Reviews

there might be something about your specific PDA model

In other words, if you have Palm hardware, you should be looking for OSM
via Palm info. If you have TomTom hardware, you should look at the
 TomTom page.

Having TomTom software on your Palm likely doesn't matter.

Indeed, I used cotogps [0] when I used my Palm PDA for tracking.
