Re: [Talk-GB] Hanbury Meeting - Fauld Crater

I know that tagging for the renderer is not particularly helpful,
however, might it be appropriate in this instance to map the significant
slopes around the edges of the crater with man_made=embankment ? There are
slopes there in reality, and they are made by human activity (even if not
intentionally).

Interesting to read about this too, I don't know about it before.

The German wiki on historic items [1] uses historic=bomb_crater. They
are displayed on the geschichtskarte [2] (sorry I don't know an example).
They also refer to taginfo [3]. But I don't know whether the one you are
 referring to has historic value

Thanks - that's exactly what it is.

Some of the pictures here give an idea of the size and the depth:

I resorted to natural=cliff on the sink hole under Eyam Edge, but there the
sides were vertical. There has recently been a fair bit of discussion about
extending cliff tags, and one of the cases is for non-vertical ones!

That does make some sort of sense - the sides (especially at the top) are
 quite steep.

[Talk-gb-westmidlands] New Street Station

2015-01-10 Thread Andy Mabbett
At last Thursday's meetup, we discussed re-mapping New Street Station,
and the challenges that will pose.

One thing we will need is aerial photography, or pictures from
overlooking buildings: not to trace, but for a general overview.

I've made a start at collecting links, at:

  http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mappa_Mercia/New_Street_Station

Please feel free to add to that.
