Hi,

the demise of Potlatch, or at least its the browser-based incarnation,
painfully demonstrates how out-of-date much of our beginner-level
documentation on the Wiki is. The "Beginner's Guide" has been
enthusiastically translated into 45 languages
(https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Beginners%27_guide), and most these
versions have probably been bit-rotting away from the day of their
inception, but now they actually document something that does not work
any more, which is more noticeable than documenting something that is
"maybe a little out of touch".

I have a hunch that the whole "Beginner's Guide" idea needs a thorough
overhaul (I don't see mobile editing mentioned in many versions for
example, and it seems that some language versions still advise that
collecting GPX data is the first step before you can do anything), but
that's likely a major undertaking. Maybe for the time being, if you

and have half an understanding of how Potlatch is used on the desktop,
maybe you can check that references to the web-based Potlatch 2 are
removed, and replaced with instructions (or pointers to instructions) on
how to work with desktop Potlatch.

Applications are now open for the Facebook Community Impact Microgrants!


Up to $5000 is available for OpenStreetMap (OSM) community projects that
directly support, contribute, or respond to local humanitarian/development
challenges. In this round, six grants of $5000 will be available, three in
the East Africa region and three in the Asia region.

Please share widely!

To apply, applicants must upload their proposals to the HOT Wiki page

Instructions on how to do this can be found here

the wiki page project applications can be shared, commented upon, and
endorsed by other community members - all of which will be taken into
consideration during the project selection process.

使用者Eryachou在世新看來想編室內地圖，但未遵循Simple Indoor Map tag，而且直接用JOSM，並沒有與既有資料整合

這裡是OpenStreetMap台灣社群的郵件論壇，由社群經營，利用自己空閒時間回應與討論問題。

你貼的圖並不是 osm.org 圖磚伺服器的圖磚，是由第三業者自行用 OpenStreetMap 資料生成圖磚，地圖樣式並不一樣。

你說的恩瑋機場問題，早就已經在 OpenStreetMap 資料庫修正完畢。建議是直接聯繫網站業者或圖磚提供者能更快解決問題。詢問其中一家圖磚業者
Mapbox，他們有些客戶已經不用他們服務，可能圖磚因此沒更新就留有舊資料。

They just use the data release by the authorities. No data from

[Talk-TW] 千里步道繪製

Hi All,

很久以前曾在Talk-TW提過千里步道

但還沒加到 OpenStreetMap 裡

現在實際把路線用關係的方式編輯

看到千里步道網站提供的路徑，有時候跑到農田裡，或是路徑跑到河對岸去

不知道是不是當年GPS沒那麼好相當容易漂走

後來看到UrMap發現他們贊助的千里步道路線版本，狀況好多了，至少不會跑去奇怪的地方

目前有兩條線編輯上去了

長久一來台灣在外島一帶，並沒有公告的國界線
先前只是依據實際控制島嶼，沿著海岸線繪製
如今有人找出外島的限定水域的公告範圍

無國界醫生 地圖松(MSF Mapathon)
時間：6月23日 (六) 14:00-17:00
地點：3 café studio 二樓 (台北市中山區建國北路二段18號)，近捷運松江南京站，由6號出口
步行約5分鐘
報名資格：
(1) 對MSF Mapathon 有興趣的OpenStreetMap志工，且有意願協助日後此活動的夥伴優先。
(2) 地圖繪製的介面以中文為主，會有一些英文，我們全程以中文教學，告訴大家如何做地圖繪製，希望你不排斥有英文的介面。


★參與「無國界醫生 地圖松」需要準備
年滿13歲，參加地圖松不需要任何相關經驗，你需要準備的東西有:
(1) 筆電、(2)滑鼠(有滑鼠能讓地圖繪製事半功倍)、(3)熱情
活動會提供飲料及小餅乾，若報名後臨時無法參加活動，請儘早告知工作人員，讓名額可開放給其他有興趣的夥伴參加

QGIS 除了內建下載 OSM 資料的功能，還有幾個跟 OSM 相關的 plugin，如 OpenLayer，或是簡化OSM 資料處理的
QuickOSM。

QGIS 上面跟 OSM 相關的功能介面翻譯是用 Transifex 之外，plugin 介面翻譯通常是在 Github 處理

我目前先把兩個 plugin 的翻譯 fork 到 OsmHackTW 的 Github 頁面

separating Chinese and English name of a street.

The Post Office way of translation is the same as the street label I saw
around Taipei

I'm not quite sure the situation in another place in Taiwan.

大家如果今天打開開放街圖網站，大概會發現變得很不一樣吧

最大的改變大概是道路的顏色，原本五顏六色的顏色，現在變成以下的顏色：
motorway 藍 -> 紅
trunk 綠 -> 桃
primary 紅 -> 橘
secondary 橘 -> 黃
tertiary 黃 -> 白

另外鐵路的線路也變得比較黑一點

先說我對目前OSM地圖狀況，以臺灣畫POI狀況來說，對一般人的參考價值不高
大多數人靠汽車導行或是Google地圖

對業者來說會用Google Map Maker還比較實用


回到原po的問題
如同昕迪講的，公開的東西都會有人畫
以我來說出去玩稍微畫去的景點，住的旅舍
如果有大量刪除的狀況，有工具能夠一次回復
不用擔心對OSM會怎樣

 大致上就是

 然後等人按通過, 通常滿快的.

下週三(3/12)我會交大張智安老師的服務課講HOT(Humanitarian OSM Team,
http://hot.openstreetmap.org/about)，談他們做的事情，以及如果不能飛到當地實際現場勘查，跨越國界如何參與。

這些看起很遙遠，但在我們的邦交國可以進行不少援外計畫，會講Vitagejhan在聖多美普林西比畫出該地最完整的地圖

 上學期期末系上大肆的畢業專題展也有見到1、2組同學以OSM的圖資作應用與處理 但是他們都不知道OSM社群的活動
 所以如果透過課程及活動先讓更多學生知道OSM 將來在其他創意的應用上更可以納入OSM的資源
 我想參加OSM繪圖是跨進來的第一步
 上學期也跟東波談過我對OSM與台南文史的結合有興趣 所以等我對OSM再熟悉一些之後有一些繪製成果 再找地方文史社團進一步討論

好久沒辦mapping party了
先前在OSM台北月聚，跟egret討論過年後該來辦mapping party，覺得時間上來說過年後會適合

面向新手屬性的OpenStreetMap工作坊
畫畫道路、標標路名、商店就差不多了

iD 1.1版就可以編relation了
之後也會有越來越多模組了
而且新手編輯用到relation的機率其實不高
如果要畫大眾運輸路線就會用到
