Thx :-) After testing I know that _every_ name except 'Inbox', 'Outbox',
'Trash' and 'Sent' will prevent me from this problem.
But if I recall my school times right, 'send' is an irregular verb and it's
inflected form is 'sent' instead of 'sended'. Second this is an issue of
shorten folder names as they're nested in 4th level, and longer name requires
wider column and I want to keep it as small as possible :-)

what about a macro %GREETING% that...

2001-08-07 Thread Stefano Z.

Hi all,

...put the right type of greeting in relation of the current time ?

eg.
1) if time is between 7.00 and 12.00 %GREETING% report Good mornig

2) if time is between 12.01 and 17.00 %GREETING% report Good
   afternoon

3) if time is between 17.01 and 20.00 %GREETING% report Good
   evening

4) if time is between 20.01 and 7.00 %GREETING% report Good
   night

It is a good thing also , that al this stuff is put on setting so i can
set any string to return related to time and user language.

ecc..

Hello Stefano,

On Tuesday, August 07, 2001 at 6:37:54 PM you wrote (at least in part):

*hmmm* ... one philosophic question:
Do you mean the time when messages arrives at your system (TOP [TimeOfPOP]),
time when you write your answer, time of arrival of your answer at my system,
my system time, your system time ... etc :-)
I think's it's so difficulty for RIT to make this macro working _right_ for
everyone. It's better one creates a _really good_ QT and posts it so
everybody can include it if he/she want's it :-)

P.S.: Above mentioned 'time of arrival at target system' WAS NOT meant
seriously!!! I _DO KNOW_ it is quite impossible to achieve such behavior
without scripting (and that's something most of us agree we don't want in TB!,
aren't we?) :-)))

drop the vowel and just make it snt. You can often drop a vowel or so
to make folder names shorter

Hello Stefano,

Historians believe that Tuesday, August 7, 2001 at 18:37 GMT +0200 was
when, Stefano Z. [SZ] typed the following:

SZ It is a good thing also , that al this stuff is put on setting so i can
SZ set any string to return related to time and user language.

You can do this already with the %IF macro. But in order to help you,
can you show us the output of the %TIME and %TIMELONG macros? In the
current beta series, we can specify the format manually, but you're
using the release version which doesn't have that option.

Also, there is currently a bit of a bug with nested %IF macros, so the
syntax might change when the bug is fixed.
