Hello, Mark.

You wrote 27.09.2003 @ 17:44 in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

MA I have just installed 0.4fm and I have noticed a couple of odd
MA behaviors.

MA 1. Messages sent to the Junk Mail folder don't appear to be adding
MA themselves to the SPAM frequency dictionary.

How did you recognize it? If you just Mark as Junk and go to the
information's page of the filter, you will see the same number as before.
Actually the it is only marking action, not learning. But - the actual
learning will begin automatically after half a minute after you make your last
mark as action - or after you receive the last letter (because the same mark
as action is called from regarding procedure based on the grade). This learning
process is asynchronous. Usually it takes about a minute to be completed - and
then the regarding base will be reloaded. So, if you mark as... some letter,
you will see the counter changed after about at least half a minute - actually
after 1-1.5 minutes.

If you receive a junk letter (which was automatically moved to junk folder, or
which you mark as Junk by button, you may check the quantity of junk mails in
the base after minute or two - but not immediately. (note, that in 2.00.15 you
even don't need to manually move the letter to the junk mail - because it will
be done together with mark as action - IMHO this is good new feature of
2.00.15).

MA 2. When I run Mark as Junk on multiple items the confirmation
MA message no longer seems to return the right number. Instead it always
MA says 1 message processed if one or more were re-classified as Spam.

Yeah, it is a small cosmetic issue. I tried to cause the filter to return a
good result - in the sense of CP-API - if the filter with mark as action
will recognize that the message is already present in the appropriate part of
the base (i.e. if you mark as junk the letter which was already marked as junk
before, and in the opposite case), it will return a negative answer, and The
Bat! will show that 0 letters was processed This is only cosmetic message
- of course, I can always return a positive result, and it is only small
cosmetic feature. But it still be a small bug in this feature. I'll fix it.

MA Keep up the good work though. BayesIt is starting to look very good
MA indeed.

Thanks' for feedback!

MDP No - the problem is not TB's. It's the sending software.

Not confirmed. If you move the message back to your unbox and reclassify

haven't had any filter automatically yet.

Good work to the developers.

[+] Address Picker: it is now possible to add addresses manually (not
 from Address Books)

Was trying to work out what this meant... but now I see... good
feature, though it seems to allow for entry of invalid email
addresses, such as:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]@netdork.net

I think that'd be an invalid email address.

[+] Possibility to set the order of action of a scheduled event

Is the backup option going to be introduced into the scheduler any
time soon?

[+] Possibility to control execution based on exit code of a program
 started by a scheduled action

That's a great feature... you can probably get TB to trigger emails
and what not on the failure of events... very nice.

[*] Message counters in IMAP folders are now displayed as actual cached

Erm, does that mean the count is done from the cache? Or done from the
actual IMAP server reply? The statement seems to contradict itself.
I'd prefer it to be done off of the IMAP server count to be honest as
I'm often having to switch to my webmail interface as TB is/was having
issues accessing certain folders.

[*] IMAP implementation should be less memory greedy now

Seems to be around where it was in the final betas... sitting at 30MB
at the moment.

[*] Advanced button is removed from the Mail Management page of the
account properties dialogue - new pages are added instead

This looks very much nicer.

[-] IMAP: Possible problems with large literals should be avoided
[-] IMAP option to fetch message structures is finally working
[-] (#0001666) (\NoSelect flag of an IMAP mailbox was ignored)

Shall re-instate my UW-IMAP server to give this one a run down.

Seems the ticker is behaving a little nicer now too... shall see how
it progresses.

Should have mentioned in my last post that sending mail is still a
pain in the ass to do 90% of the time on IMAP accounts when you have
an outbox, and sent items folder defined on the IMAP server. I
still have to manually go into the folder, select the mail, delete
any duplicates (because there is always at least 2 copies of the

ST changes will be listed by builds, with the latest changes on the top
ST and earlier ones at the bottom... That's the plan :-)

Excellent. That will be very useful. Thanks.

JA This worked, but I must ask, why was my phone number required?

ST I suppose, to call you and have a chat in case you have something
ST interesting to say? :-)

;-)

ST I would agree, it shouldn't be mandatory, I think we'll change it
ST to optional. Again, this is just for some consciousness, as I
ST mentioned in my previous reply in this thread.

I figured as much, but it seemed odd for some reason.

JA Very nice, though it isn't obvious what that text field is for.

ST Should a big yellow label put somewhere to describe the meaning? ;-)
ST Ugh, it reminds me about the need to update the help...

Big yellow labels are always nice. Maybe it should be animated? ;-)
Seriously though, perhaps you could put some throw away default text
until the box is selected?

ST Ha! I guessed somebody will as for that :-) You are the first, my
ST congratulations! ;-)

Excellent! ;-)

ST Yes, I'm thinking about this, it just needs some
ST idea of how it can be done - currently, I'm thinking of two buttons
ST (Add and Modify), but it doesn't look very nice to mee...

That would probably be clearer than my idea. I was thinking more
along the lines of right clicking the address, selecting an edit
option which would then move the entry to the edit text box. But then
you'd need a cancel or undo feature...
