Of course, this is probably because of the "last message marker"
stored somewhere in the Registry, I assume - but as you can see this
is a bad idea..

this "highwater marker" should be stored with the accounts, I propose.
Because now, I'm downloading the whole bunch again.. this is bad, but
IMHO better not disturb that and Kill Dupes afterwards..

strange behaviour when fetching mail after system restore from image (old registry)

2004-02-18 Thread dAniel hAhler
Hello bats,

I just went to a backup (image) of my system partition that was two
days old and recognized strange behaviour while fetching mail:

[02:22:48] C: Connected to 127.0.0.1, port 110

[02:24:21] S: !!! Socket error: #10054 (0x2746)

The "socket error" appeared 585 times while there were only 580 mails.
After fetching nothing TB said 580 mails, 580 new.

The POPFile log does not say ANYTHING about this session..?!

What I also found confusing was that tb said "Retrieiving (sic!) message
header #1 (1/580)" for quite a while, though I did not invoke the
dispatcher and have no selective download filters.

Stef, full description of included parametres should be available in
this file (because it is not available in help).

And IMHO You should create "protocol.ini" in every account as default.
With logging turned off and with full description of parametres.

Did you see the final release? ;-) Me neither - it's still in works.
Because the release date is close, I've been testing it for some hours
by myself, so I'm 98% sure everything is fine with these two (2% is
enough to delay the release for more testing, though - that's why it's
still not declared as an official release). These features can only be
tested on the pre-release stage because it's when all files are
getting together and installation routine can be tested in full.

Take this thread, this long "2.04.3 test release" one. Mark my message
(THIS one) as unread. Collapse the thread. Scroll the window up, so
that it'd have to scroll down to show my message once you expand the
thread. Now hit Ctrl+Right or whatever you have for Next Unread.

Well, the menu is all about View Modes... On the other hand, what
would be a replacement for (none)? I've made it "No View Mode", but
it's not precisely what it really means. No View Mode is still a View

In order to be correctly understood by The Bat! the Content-type

If parameters are for users to see, then make them look like
parameters and not like code: "ConfirmNotify:1;SearchFolders:1" looks
much, much better as "Confirm notifications, Search in folders".

Why not regular tabs?

I know what cron format is, believe me. There is enough screen space
here, however, to provide a simple explanation, instead of a cryptic
name.

No, you go fix your program. ;-)

It's not "a bit odd", it's a big hairy ugly bug. How about just
truncating the description to the first #10 character, for the event
list display...

I worked on a support desk for years and never got the chance to use
that line.
