Header Field Sender Failure

2004-09-07 Thread Bill McCarthy
Hello TB Beta List,

My filter failed on a mail with this sender line:

Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The filter used the NFS construct:

Header field - sender v contains - comp.lang.forth

(where the v is the little drop down box thingy)

BTW, I got it to work with the following:

Header - match - ^sender: comp\.lang\.forth

N.B. Regex are no longer case sensitive!

EJM Excellent questions. In the example given, Word Perfect, one does not
EJM go back to a previous version. However, that sounds like it may be an
EJM important feature for RIT labs.

I do not think it is possible dur to the way Installer works (or does
not work, whatever).

There is another wyu to do this:

when running the install, TB! is put
in a directory that has the version/release in the name (like 'Program
Files\TheBat!\V3.0.00').

Also, the Installer code will ask if you want to upgrade in place, or
upgrade and maintain the previous install. If you decide to upgrade in
place, then the privous version is removed; otherwise, it is
completely kept in.

Then, it is up to you which version you want to use.

Obvious, there are some potential issues on compatibility.

NFS: Known filter, what a fiasco!

2004-09-07 Thread MAU
Hello all,

It's actually my fault for being confident and taking too many risks.
The thing is that I forgot that 3.0.0.7 is not a real beta and it
doesn't have the Debug NFS option on each account as the 2.13 betas
did. So, my work account has been using NFS, Know filter included, for
my main work account for the last 2 days and what a fiasco!

I thought I had tested it with v3.0 and the only apparent problem was
that it was using _all_ of my 6 ABs and not just the default one (can't
re-verify that now, don't have the time) which was a minor problem to
me. But with 3.0.0.7 it looks like it is _not_ looking at any AB at all.

As I don't have time now to really test and verify, I am going back all
the way to v2.12. Yes, 2.12 with the good and old OFS, and I don't know
for how long.

Fixing the Known filter should be high priority as I assume it is one of
the filters most widely used.

Fun with filters

2004-09-07 Thread David Elliott
Dear All

I have been doing a bit of reorganising with my filters and have come
against a strange problem.

I have top level filters that can catch all message they are called

SPAM
LISTS
Friends

Inside lists are all the lists and news letters.

Inside friends and contacts are all my friends.

All of the sub filters move messages.

So ones like 9Val's anouncement or Marck posting to TBBETA should get caught
by one in the list category and be moved.

What I actually get it two messages one in the appropriate list folder and
one in the appropriate friends folder.

Not that I know of.

Don't think so. My guess would be something has gone awry in your

And please do not tell me that he has to downgrade to the old

Common folders require their own configuration for when messages are
flagged as read.

This can be done by selecting any common folder and then hitting
Shift-CTRL-P. The configuration panel for common folders should appear
and the first option is that read flag trigger time interval.

So purpose of today's beta is to figure reason of 'Invalid HTML'
error. Diman (HTML Viewer developer) added some debugging information
and made some fixes. Hope it is the last try.

I just went through about 150 messages and haven't encountered this
error.

I see that others have seen it though.

Thank you so very much. I shall go try it now.

3.0.0.7 getting stuck sending mail, while still busy with the first download

2004-09-07 Thread Roelof Otten
Hallo tbbeta,

I came home late tonight, started the pc, started TB, automatic
  download started.
  lots of mail
  one from my brother
replied, pressed F2 and TB was stuck
According to my server log TB didn't start sending, but receiving
mail stopped (97 out of 385)

  Killed TB with the taskmanager
Restarted, everything downloaded fine and my outgoing message got
  automatically too.
Only problem left was 97 dupes in several folders.

Anybody noticing this kind of behaviour?

I just now did, and the page returned the same error that it's been
returning to me since I created a new account today. It is also the
same error that I've received in past weeks, after creating different
accounts, with different user names and passwords.

Screen shot is attached. I do appreciate your help.

I noticed this when I used to have TB set to download all accounts at
startup. Always seemed as if one account got stuck like this.
Since I have now staggered my accounts fetch, no more
problemsknock on some nearby wood.
