Can't confirm, that's one thing that does work with Micro-Ed!

I've been having really weird problems with saving to Outbox. Save
message only seems to work once (I think). Then it's a lottery as to
whether Save message as draft or Store message as draft (Still don't
know the difference between those two) works.

I've just done some replies to this beta and two of the messages were
suddenly threaded in the outbox, never had that before. also I sometimes
get the message left open in the editor even after I've saved it ti the
Outbox.

Oh yes, whilst I'm on a roll, none of the items at the bottom of Mico-Ed
work yet. I presume that's an ongoing thing.

Right clicking anywhere in the status bar brings up the

this, I closed the editor to see a 'list index out of

second time, I got an AV on closing the editor. See

I tried to exit TB! to start fresh and couldn't exit. I got

running tasks underway. That popup never seems to really
help. I eventually had to kill with the taskmanager.

Oh. I forgot that a particularly annoying problem that still
occurs here is the loading of an incorrect message body for
a selected message. Reloading the message cures this, but at
times, you don't even realize that you're reading the wrong
message body until you realize that your original thinking
that you're reading duplicates may be wrong and you check

I haven't downloaded or tested any of the previous Alphas or Pre-Betas,
so 3.0.9.4 is my first look at the new UI, etc., and I must say that I
think you guys are going in the right direction. Good work!

I don't have much time at the moment for real testing but I'll try to
contribute as much as I can.

Sorry if this has already been explained and I missed it but, what is
this all about?

Hello Den,

on 3.0.9.4 spell checker doesn't work in automatic mode.

It works here if you first de-select 'Automatic checking' and select it
again. The problem is that this workaround is only good for one shot,
the next time you open the ditor for a new message you will have to do
the same again.

3.0.9.4: Sirting Office filter tree

2005-03-05 Thread MAU
Hello all,

The fields and tick boxes added to the filter tree are a good idea. At
least some of them, I don't think that displaying here the actual
short-cut for a filter (if there is one) is a real need.

However, and unless I have missed something, I don't see any indication
if a filter is set to Continue processing with other filters which,
from my point of view, is a much more needed indication in the filter
tree.

3.0.9.4: Message editor hardly usable for me

2005-03-05 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I always use MicroEd plain text. There are a number of issues that make
it almost unusable for me as it is right now. That I can recall, and in
no particular order:

1.- No automatic spell check unless Ctrl+F4 is hit twice.

2.- The set of four icons in the Formatting toolbar changing. Don't know
what it makes them to change.

3.- Status bar at bottom not showing language selected.

4.- Context menu on status bar is the same no matter where cursor is
placed, with no option to change language, or account, etc.

5.- Clicking on the options displayed on the status bar does not have
any effect.

6.- The context menu that should only be viewed when right clicking on
the header fields names (i.e. to select which headers to view) is also
shown when right clicking on most of the fields contents window. It
seems that only To and CC contents window show the right context menu
(Undo, Copy, paste, etc.)

7.- Tooltip for second button (from left) of the standard toolbar should
be Queue message in Outbox instead of Store message as draft. The
third button _is_ Save message as draft.

Aside of that, there are circumstances (also reported by others) where
the toolbar and menus disappear, or that cause the Out of bounds error
message, etc.

Finally, and although this was introduced/changed many betas ago, having
to select Utilities/Insert/Insert Quick Template/template name to
select and insert a QT makes its use rather cumbersome.

Wow, great. Allie and I didn't even have to complain that much :-)

No, I did ;) I'm a very heavy IMAP user, and was forced to quit using
TB since beta 9 because of how badly it was working. I was using my
webmail application for several months, missing a bunch of features in
TB, but I got by... I have to admit, this has to be the most stable
IMAP version I've used in a LONG while. Great work guys.

The new Statistics tab added to the filter properties is a nice idea. Is

This may be a problem mostly for smaller screens as even a small

3.0.9.4: Using glyphs.bmp

Hello all,

Using my customised glyphs.bmp works fine with 3.0.2.10 but with 3.0.9.4
icons on toolbars are not replaced by those in glyphs.bmp. No big deal

Re: 3.0.9.4: Message editor hardly usable for me

2005-03-05 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello MAU,

A reminder of what MAU typed on:
  March 5, 2005 at 17:06:39 GMT +0100

M I always use MicroEd plain text. There are a number of issues that
M make it almost unusable for me as it is right now. That I can
M recall, and in no particular order:

M 1.- No automatic spell check unless Ctrl+F4 is hit twice.

I can't even get that to work.

M 2.- The set of four icons in the Formatting toolbar changing. Don't
M know what it makes them to change.

If you place your cursor in a line of tect it will left, center right
or justify the text. Just for that line not the whole paragraphas with
Alt+J or Alt+L.

M 3.- Status bar at bottom not showing language selected.

Confirmed.

M 4.- Context menu on status bar is the same no matter where cursor is
M placed, with no option to change language, or account, etc.

My status bar is showing the cursor poition, but when you right click
on the staus bar (anywhere) you get the same menu appearing, mostly
formatting and priority choices.

M 5.- Clicking on the options displayed on the status bar does not have
M any effect.

Confirmed.

M 6.- The context menu that should only be viewed when right clicking on
M the header fields names (i.e. to select which headers to view) is also
M shown when right clicking on most of the fields contents window. It
M seems that only To and CC contents window show the right context menu
M (Undo, Copy, paste, etc.)

If you first right click on any of the fields, you always get the
header choices. Its only if you left click first, then right click
that you get cut/copy paste, and never on From: or Subjsct fields.

M 7.- Tooltip for second button (from left) of the standard toolbar should
M be Queue message in Outbox instead of Store message as draft. The
M third button _is_ Save message as draft.

Confirmed

M Aside of that, there are circumstances (also reported by others) where
M the toolbar and menus disappear, or that cause the Out of bounds error
M message, etc.

Also confirmed.

3.0.9.4: No auto Quick Search

2005-03-05 Thread MAU
Hello all,

In 3.0.2.10 and previous version and while focus is on messagelist pane,

Hello Richard,

A reminder of what Richard Wakeford typed on:

SC Here is a screenshot of my Micro-ed settings. Do you have something
SC different?

RW I have wrap text at 72 and quote name at 10 but that shouldn't do
RW anything. I do have pasting block type set to adjust automatically and
RW also I have autoformat and auto indent set.

RW Wonder if it could be the auto format? Just a wild guess.

RW . no, at least not here because I've just tried it.

No, none of those things seem to make a difference. Can anyone else
confirm the behavior I am seeing or the behavior Richard is seeing.

Re: Alt-Click bizzarities

2005-03-05 Thread MAU
Hello Allie,

With this prebeta, only two of the messages were displayed.
I know there had to be a lot more. I click on the one at the
top. As the body text is displayed, another of the messages
appears above it in the list. I click on this new message
and another appears above it in the list. I click on the one
above and another appears etc. etc. etc.

 Bizarre. A cute bug. :)

In my case it is just a vertical scroll problem. All messages that
should appear are there (read, unread, flagged, whatever I had
alt+clicked on), it is just the vertical scroll bar is not set properly.

You can switch from viewing attachments in the pane that's
in the viewer and just have them reduced to a menu list,

Now that you mention it, if I try to change from pane view to button
view, nothing happens. It is checked, but it is still stuck in pane
view.

MP You're concerned wether it is safe to use TB's IMAP, but meanwhile, at
MP your not-so-young-age, are going to attend a Meatloaf show without any
MP (at least mentioned or noticeable) precautions??!!

I know how good Meatloaf are, I've been listening to them since the 70's.
I've never used IMAP ever.

MP Hope you enjoyed it, though.

It was absolutely fantastic. Meatloaf story, Cher, Bonny Tyler, lovely wife
in one hand, pint of best bitter in the other, heavy rock music so loud you
could feel it in every bone, life just doesn't get any better... Well,
unless Led Zeppelin or Status Quo were on stage that is.

It would seem that whatever view you were using, you're
stuck in. I was using the attachment button without the
attachment pane, and I'm stuck in that mode.
