This is the *unfinished* customizer. Okay, toggle button/item would be nice,
but what we need is assigning icons to menu items.
At some time I had "Reload" and the two connection items on the menubar.
Everyone can imagine how ugly this is.

Furthermore, in the message editor, I do have items for signing and encrypting
(also standard buttons in other clients) on my toolbar.

Icons would be nice, I would say that icons are a must!

Nevertheless, a toogle functionality would be great. But I would prefer to be

problem is not happen if I follow this steps.

Please note that you have to create a new message to make the changed
default setting applicable. Just re-opening an already created message
is not enough.

You can actually see if message will be split or not: In message
Editor: "Option"-"SPlit message if needed"

> I experienced this with 3.0.1.33.

3.0.1.33 had some other bug with the split feature (not reconstructing
the messages) but worked fine too in regard to the default checkbox.

I confirm that messages always get split if you ever set the splitting
option. I did that for testing purposes. If you take the tickmark off,
messages will still be split, so you have to set the size to a
ridiculously high value.

Bug: Taking the tickmark off will be ignored.

Steps to reproduce: Tick the option, use it for test purposes whether
messages are really split. Take the tickmark off, messages are still
split.

I experienced this with 3.0.1.33.

Attachment bar not remembering position in the editor

Hi all,

I see that the editor now supports the moving of the attachments pane.
You can do this by holding and dragging the title bar for the
attachments pane. You can then dock it at the bottom or top of the
editor window.

However, the new position you leave it in doesn't seem to be saved. I
reopen a new message and it's at the default position again.

Additionally, how about allowing small icons as in the main window's

IMAP: Connect/Disconnect frequently required

2005-06-21 Thread Allie Martin
Hi all,

I find that I need to do pretty frequent connect/disconnect operations
to get hitches with mailbox counts sorted out.

Navigating to the menu items is just out of the question. Decent clients
usually have a toggle button for connecting/disconnecting from the
server.

I've tried it with the current functionality, but the result leaves a
lot to be desired in terms of appearance. Even Tony would make an
exception for this one.

See http://www.ac-martin.com/pics/connect.png

We need a toggle button for the server connection for IMAP users. How
about it?

Message splitting - a headache for me

I'm having this weird problem with the last couple of betas. When I
send messages with attachments larger than about 100KB, the messages
are automatically split and sent in parts of 100KB each.

I simply do not wish this to happen. I checked the Account Properties

does do, however, is to give me a splitting headache every time it

The University network seems busy so the Internet feed is slower than
usual. I had to switch back to using Mulberry with that. I have to wait
for too long for a message body to load.

The message body requests are very much stuck in the queue and have to
wait their turn. If the connection is slow, this can be agony.

Hmmm. I could see that being the case, yes. However, the messages in

This does happen, but the issue is broader than this: each time I click away
from that VF then return, Export options are disabled until I click a message in
the list. (Earlier today I couldn't even get the Export option when clicking on
the message in the list, but I can't now reproduce that, so I'll chalk it up to
user error.)

Agreed. I'd count the Export issue as a bug, too, but not one with a

No, it doesn't really download anything. It's just all or nothing. The
best you can do is fix the number of body lines to display in the
dispatcher along with the headers. At least, that is all I know about.

Not to change the subject from IMAP to POP3 [grin], this reminds me of
an old discussion - wish list item - to have the option to download
only the message body without attachments. For example, let's say I an
using the message Dispatcher and I see a message from a friend with a
huge attachment. I don't want to download the attachment just now, but
I do want to receive the message body so that I can reply to my
friend. Currently, I know of no way to do this. Has there been any
progress by RL that you know of on this project?

But then again, I got another large message and the attachment was not
retrieved initially. I don't really know what's happening.

This latter message contained 1 attachment, while the other messages
contained multiple attachments. I don't know if that has something to
do with it.

If you select a just created VF Export options may appear as disabled
(greyed) until you select a message from the message list. Is this what
is happening to you?

You are right but you don't nee to re-start TB. If you select another
folder tree tab, like Unread or Virtual, and then come back to All, you
will see the newly created VF. Although I'd say this is a bug because it
should not be necessary, the VF should be displayed when created just
like it is when created via New Virtual Folder.

Yes, I understand better now, and I can confirm this behavior -
occasionally - in folders with many messages where you scroll down
from somewhere towards the top to the very bottom. The gap seems to
vary, and the gap disappears when I go to another folder and then
return to the folder where I am already at the last message in the
list. Definitely a bizarre behavior, but not really a major problem in
respect to performance. Personally, I would have assigned it a very
low priority rather than "normal" priority. But, okay, I can confirm
this bug.

I'm trying to say that there is some unused space beneath the last messing
in message list. As you can see, there are thousands of messages in this
folder. The problem just showed up in one of the 3.5 betas. Until then the
behaviour was how it should be. The last message was displayed right at the
bottom of the message list window.

Now a little clearer? I'll post this to BT also.
