Message sorting

2005-09-13 Thread Richard Wakeford
Hello,

I have all my folders sorted by reverse order (newest message last) and
references/created date.

When I post a new message it is put at the top of the folder and it's
only when I exit and re enter the folder that it gets put at the bottom
in its correct place. The strange thing is that this has not always
happened, even with this version .03 so I'm not sure what's happening
apart from the installation of some other programme in the intervening
weeks having a small effect on TB!

BTW Where do I go for translation inconsistences in other languages?
I found some in:

In the German interface Dutch is called 'Dutch' instead of 'Niederländisch'
In the Indonesian interface the whole list is in the same language as

I'm using IMAP and the same sort of thing happens here. I'm not sure if
you're referring to an IMAP folder. The difference for me is that the
new message is added to the bottom of the list, whether or not it
belongs to a thread further up the list. I exit and return to the folder
and the message is now where it should be.

I've even seen messages added to the wrong thread, usually the last
thread in the list. Things are then fixed after exiting and re-entering
the folder.

HTML replies quotes such

2005-09-13 Thread Alexander S. Kunz
Hello everyone,

this new HTML reply function is the way to go, but it needs some
improvements IMHO.

Just today I got an HTML message which contained quotes, regular style
quote introducer, but in HTML. When replying to this with HTML replies
enabled, TB put its on white-on-blue HTML quotemark only on top of this
existing HTML quotes, and only to the first line, leaving an empty TB HTML
quote introducer white-on-blue pointed bracket line, and below this the
original HTML message as it was. :-)

I thought I'd switch to plain text for the reply instead. I got some stray
quotemarks for empty lines, but thats no big deal. However, when I tried to
reflow the quoted part with ALT-L, it did not work. I checked and double
checked, yes I did use MicroEd, but no luck with ALT-L.

Any confirmations and/or similar observations?

Template and Quick Templates

2005-09-13 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello tbbeta,

I noticed in the last beta, 3.61.03, that one of my quick templates
had disappeared. It was Quote2 which I think I got off a RIT support
site somewhere. I went to send an e-mail to this list and it said
Quote2 could not be found. I went looking for it and never did find it.
Has anyone seen a QT go missing like this.

Secondly I went to send a new message to one of my contacts and the
template used the greeting Hello Everyone. If I look in the Account
properties for a new message template it says Hello %TOFName,.

I then checked his personal template and folder templates and address
book templates and none of them have a hello everybody macro. Is there
somewhere else I can look or is anyone else experiencing this. I do
remember creating a Macro that did this, but only when responding to
an address book group, not one individual.

If you have Use Group-specific Template... checked and this individual
is a member of that group TB does this. It is sometimes good,
sometimes annoying. This behavior has existed since v.2 and maybe even
before that.

No, we didn't figure out why are they disappearing.

Unfortunately we do currently not plan to support UIDs which have no e-mail
address in the e-mail client. Freeform signatures is a nice idea, I've moved
4171 to the wishes category.

Only partly fixed. No more shutting down, but it still produces an AV.
See my reply on http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5098.
You might have used an old version of The Bat! properly, but we did find a
place where the AV did ocur and fixed it.

Anyone having the problem of missing characters when typing in the body, at
times the cursor just freezes and there will be a delay then all of a sudden
the cursor wil catch up and show the characters that were typed. However i am
fairly fast at typing and i have found with the last couple of betas there
seems to be something causing the bat to really be rather unstable when typing
an email message and downloading messages in the background.

I've been noting this. There's no real stability issue from my
experience. It's just that there's a delayed response to keyboard input
as you type and then TB! catches up. It seems to be while TB! is doing
server sync operations or similar tasks. I'm using IMAP.

It doesn't happen with all sync operations so I'm still wondering what
triggers it.

Fit headers to Image option not working

2005-09-13 Thread Curtis
Hi all,

This is a small one, but it's there.

Normally, if I wish to see a rogue image with more clarity, I'd just
enable the 'Fit headers to Image' option that's located in the
right-click context menu for the header bar.

Nothing happens when I enable the option when the image really aught to
enlarge to its actual size.
