Customiser
Hello all, So I started playing with the customizer a little. The feature, although being a nice base, needs further improvements. -the technical names, like MEdit_sbPop, should have human-understandable aliases added -there should be a way of easier finding commands in the all actions column. perhaps the commands there should be grouped somehow. for sure they need short descriptions added. some need to be removed (as out of context they are nonsense, like never, always) -drag'n'drop editing would be much easier (also for moving buttons from one button bar (or container) to another; also for menus. for this also an option to show all containers during customization would be good. -the select image window needs some polishing -- it should be resizeable, the technical names should be changed to more user friendly ones, the icons should be sorted logically. They should be displayed bigger. -there should be a way to assign icons from a file. they should be kept while the general program icons are changed or an icon is added for a command that previously didn't have one associated. There should be a way to reset an icon to it's original form, when there exists one, and to remove an icon. -most frequently used commands that don't yet have icons, should have ones added (how to determine which are most often used? this can be deducted, found out based on voting or found out by gathering statistical data from users, either automatically or not). -a BUG: after editing toolbars in the main window, I ended up with icons displaying in menu mode, i.e. all of them are very small. I cannot change it back -- choosing toolbar icons gives no effect, as this change is forgotten as soon as I click OK. So much for now. -- / Krzysztof Trybowski pgp 0xE0F7733B /--/ To get my pgp key, put / / www.trybik.jest.okey.pl GG 1458144 /--/ send_key in subject. /_ Using The Bat! 3.86.03 ALPHA (beta) [reg] under Windows XP 5.1 build 2600. Hello all, Right-clicking on misspelled word suddenly started causing an access violation error at address 00ACADAB. The balance would be there if you allowed these people to accept a certificate that has expired, they know what they are doing. Hide it under Advanced Options if you are afraid my mother would use it. The current behaviour does not feel safe, it feels like nannying and is certainly not appreciated by the professionals. Especially since they can easily switch to another product and become your ex-customers and ex-promoters. Being pedantic has its advantages, and TB! is certainly a good product. However, you have to be a bit realistic about what is out there. This customer, for example, could not connect by normal port at all, due to his company's security policy. He is clearly someone who knows what he is talking about. Even if he wanted to, he cannot use (or promote!) The Bat!. Recommending a third software (stunnel) is certainly not the idea - you are providing a work-around for your own restriction. What is the point of the restriction then? I would also think it is certainly much easier to just use another email-client with which you don't need to tunnel. Just my 2 satangs worth. -- Cheers, Thomas. But this ALPHA is not yet well tested, please use it with caution and let us know immediately of any problems that may ocur. I believe it is faster also. Congratulations to The Bat! Development Team. ALPHA close down speed
Hello, I've only had the ALPHA running for 12 hours as I was away but decided to check the close down speed just now and it was almost instantaneous. Has RIT really cracked it at last? Oh I do hope so but it's looking promising. As others have reported I find that it also opens much quicker now. -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.86.03 ALPHA (beta) with POP3 account AntispamSniper 1.6.7.3 | Windows XP (build 2600) version 5.1 Service Pack 2 | F-Prot AV, Outpost Firewall Pro, Spysweeper, Adaware, SpyBot | CPU: Athlon 1.09 Ghz | RAM: 1024 MB Holiday in France: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lazyhomes/holiday.html Current ALPHA is 3.86.03 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
