RO To be honest, I like TB's current behaviour in this.

It really doesn't do much sense, IMHO. I agree with Carsten it make
all the difference (IMHO, not only in Business environments) who you

replying, is of good sense (at least) to keep it the same way.

I would support to make the Base Behaviour konfigurable, if it get
enough support from people who find ich important too.
Do the RFCs say anything relevant to this?

Yes that's a work around.
And unless I'm very much mistaken that was Carsten's second question.
He asked for a fix or a way around it with templates, I gave him the
latter.

Well, that's something I agree with. It's important to whom you
address a message and to whom you give notice.

GF And when replying, is of good sense (at least) to keep it the same
GF way.

And I disagree with that.
When you send a message to me and some other people and I reply to
that message then I reply to you, not to the other primary recipients
of the original message. When I want to notify the other recipients of
the original message then a CC will do just fine.

In the business world, if a mail is addressed to several people, who
will be the one who answers? If the sender puts several addresses in
the same company / department into the TO field, my experience shows
that everybody thinks one of the others will reply and therefore
nobody will.

There are reasons to have multiple recipients in the TO field, for
example when you send party invitations to a small group of friends.
Whether replies should go to all or only to the host, is another
discussion.

In any case, whoever replies to a message with multiple TO recipients,
will reply to the person who sent the message, not to the others being
copied in. Hence, I agree wth Roelof.
