A quick question,

already aince quite a few udates The Bat does not start anymore
after a cold start or a warm reboot of my Windows.
In the settings, The Bat ist set to start when Windows starts.
Did something related to that change in the new updates?

New MSI files means also new tests against brand new wine v4.1 which was
released just some days ago (February 4, 2019):

Both are running on Linux (Debian64) on latest wine without any (known)
serious problems. See also Wines application database about "The Bat!":

There are also described three different installation methods how to
install "The Bat!" on Linux/Wine.

If you find something not working related to wine please send a bug report
to wine:
IMPORTANT: Please do not send it to this list (NOT to tbbeta).

Please note:
1.) Plugins which are created for use under 32bit didn't work with 64bit
version of "The Bat!" (not a wine problem). Unless there are no native 64bit
plugins available, this will not be fixed.

2.) A known issue is about the system tray in KDE:

So I recommend to switch of the system tray icon in "The Bat!s" preferences.

Please notice: this tests were done by some scripts to get a quick check if
there are some new problems since the last MSIs

Thanks for your nice work Maxim!

As you were told that Ritlabs only changed the key. So if you
re-register Thebat it should work.

Why? Gmail messages are still stored on there server - you are loosing
nothing! So you could erase TheBat completely on your machine and
re-install it and re-install the Gmail account again.

Address book: Sometimes very slow, sometimes Out of System Resources

2019-02-13 Thread mse
Hello all,

I'm facing a problem with address book. Maybe someone else, too.

Three days back I realized that when opening the address book window,
the list of available address books is displayed very slowly. You can
watch the list grow; switching between address books takes about 3
seconds. A GIF is shown here:
https://www.batboard.net/index.php/Attachment/5844-Adressbuch-langsam-gif/

Dragging the address book window on title bar is also slow. When
changing address books, the system workload increases from about 3% to
about 30% for these two or three seconds that it takes.

Version 8.8 does not load address book altogether. Instead I get an "Out
of system resources"-message and The Bat has to be killed via Task
Manager.

I also know that I have used address book normally about two weeks
back. However, some versions I tested back to Version 8.7.0 all showed
a similar behaviour. The rest of The Bat works perfectly fine (Editor,
SmartPad, search, quick templates, sorting office, ...).

I suspect that this is not The Bat's fault but rather some 3rd party
related issue. I just have no idea how to find that out...

@Ritlabs: Could the extract from thebat_exceptions point into a
direction? I attached one here.

Thank to everyone.

Best regards,
mse

Would you please describe this procedure step by step please? I'm not sure I'm
following you and again, I cannot risk Google shutting me out v. 8.2.4.3 as
well. Thanks.

Please, note that we are dealing with 2 different problems here, both very
serious:

1) Oauth process fails with any version of TB after 8.2.4.3

2) The failed Oauth process *crashes TB* 100% of the times. Even if this were
a problem caused by Google itself, the fact that I cannot even *open* TB in
any useful way, and I am forced to *kill TB process* entirely, that's a deadly
serious bug anyway and should be addressed independently.
