Replying inline to HTML messages

2021-06-11 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Dear TBBETA,

When replying inline to HTML messages, the rpely looks like it was part of the
original message that is being replied to.

Steps to reproduce:

Hit "reply" on an HTML message.
The original text will be behind a green vertical line.
Now hit after the first paragraph and start typing the reply.

The reply is still behind the green line, i.e. identifying as quoted text. It
also has the same font. So there is no way to see that this is the reply rather
than the original text.

My suggestion is that the green line will be interrupted and the reply starts
at the beginning of the line. This worked with the old HTML editor (but the
line was blue and there was a problem with the width).

Any confirmations?

Thomas.

Caret positioning seems to be correct now on first try. Let me use this version
for a couple of days and I will report back.

Links are clickable now.

According to the footer, these were not "Alpha" issues but "Apha" issues
though. ;-)

The image is definitely zoomed in for me.

Also noticed another problem – the image file I was inserting was 8735 bytes on
disk; when I saved the message as draft, it somehow became 12648 bytes; after I
opened the draft and sent it, the image somehow became 16 kB, almost twice the
size of the original. This probably shouldn't happen.

And a spell checker problem: in the word "shouldn't" above (and here), the
"shouldn" part is treated as if spelled wrongly (red underline) – looks like
the checker is treating ' as word separator for some reason.

Also, there's a misspelling in the version number: Apha :)

I noticed that the colour drop-downs in Preferences are broken (at least in high-DPI mode):Also, when inserting images into HTML messages, they appear at what looks like 200% zoom – might be related to high contrast, too (let's see how this inserted image appears once I send the message).I can see that the scrollbars in HTML messages now have the arrow buttons, which were missing previously.

[wish]: Please add a feature in the address book to choose the direction of synchronisation

2021-06-11 Thread Joerg Schiermeier
Hi there!

I want to introduce my wish about the address book in The Bat! and it's
synchronisation against remote address books:

My setting:
I run a Nextcloud instance on my web server. There is also a remote
address book which I synchronise with The Bat!. At the moment remote
changes also effects the local address book and local changes also
effects the remote address book.

My wish:
I want to choose which direction this changes are:

a.) local changes effects remote changes to the remote address book,
remote changes effects local changes to the local address book
(symmetrical synchronisation)

b.) local changes effects remote
address book (changes are written also remote), remote changes are
ignored (asymmetrical synchronisation)

c.) remote changes effects local
address book (changes are written also local), local changes are ignored
(asymmetrical synchronisation)

The current way the synchronisation is done is letter a.)

If you like my wish so please support it in Ritlabs Bugtracker:

P.S.: Please excuse my wrong written "address book" in the

New HTML editor: Paste as plaintext does not work

2021-06-11 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello TBBETA,

Try to past a link or a formatted text (such as from a Word file) into an HTML
email. Normal paste (crtl-V or right-click Paste) works.

If I want to paste as plaintext, shift-crtl-V will still paste formatted, and
right-click Paste as Plaintext is greyed out. So I always have to copy the text
into Notepad and then copy from there into TheBat.

This started with the introduction of the new HTML editor.
