Bottom line, if one is using Exchange or Google, the Bat must be able to work with a serve based information. IMAP is helpful, it does not go far enough in today's fast paced environment. If Exchange and google synch are not added to the program, then the calender should be removed or allow users to turn it off. Jerry -- Ethan J. Gmail SMTP
I know everyone has probably heard this many times and figured it all out. But I'm not finding the solution, and I am stumped for days. Until now I've used Gmail with "less secure apps", and that worked fine for me. Now, under the gun so to speak, I have disabled "less secure apps" and set up OAUTH authentication. And this works fine for me when checking my mail (POP3). But, try what I may, I cannot send mail via SMTP. My current settings are: SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com Connection: Secure to Dedicated port (TLS) (have also tried Regular and StartTLS) Port: 465 Authentication: Tried them all, but none seem to work I keep getting error messages like: WantAuthError or warnings about "no compatible authentication mechanisms detected". Sorry to trouble you all... I know the focus is on TB10... but I could really use some help here. What am I doing wrong or not doing right? -- jaywalker Windows 10 Pro The Bat! I think a real development question for the RIT labs is the question about exchange capability. Most email clients today synch with Exchange servers in a seamless and effective manner. Personally, while IMAP is ok, I would prefer my client to synch with exchange so that information on any device is accurate. I dread looking at a calendar on one device only to find out its incorrect. I realize some people don't want to be connected to a server all the time. I would ask the team to give careful consideration to exchange server feature and the ability to turn off calendar as a choice. Finally, the bat does not have task features. The power of tasks, along with calendar is the ability to synch across devices. Another possible consideration to move to an allow the bat to connect to exchange for full synchronization capability.
